As a Cultural Heritage Management Practitioner-Researcher, Cultural Interpreter and Cultural Entrepreneur in Botswana, I have learned a lot from your webinars since I first met you last year at the Africa Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards (ATLF23). - Indigenous knowledge and traditions of host community (value proposition) versus commercialization (impact) of culture and heritage in tourism needs a balance ⚖️

Indigenous knowledge is the science of indigenous people

Sustainable development principles borrow from indigenous knowledge systems that have governed mans socio cultural relationships and interactions with nature

Indigenous knowledge transmission systems have been lost in commodification of cultures

Beautifully introduced and summarised @Judy - your passion, knowledge and intimate understanding of the topic are engaging and inspiring. I take away some wonderful quotes "stories must connect and place with its past to make sense of the future... that is sustainability" and "good stories entertain and empower".
