DYmotorshop.com hull with Oxidean branded Hobby Wing electronics. Running 8s, 1650kv and 45/14 prop. I DO NOT recommend Oxidean as a purchase vendor! More to come on this.

Tragic end for your boat. Sorry for your loss. I’m now thinking to add more floatation to my mono. It currently has noodles but 2 part foam beckons.
@@marcandreasson87 I would highly recommend a 2 part expanding foam if you doing over 50mph
Did the same shit with my zelos 36, split it 3 times
@@jaycevessier7554 going fast in anything has never been cheap
Great vid! Love to see people enjoy the boat and we Truly appreciate folks showcasing it in videos! I believe I remember speaking with you when you bought it. Please remember you can always give us a call anytime with any questions!
Got a miss geico 36 sitting on the bottom of a lake still sucks
Dang man, sorry to see that. Similar wreck and damage with my fiberglass zonda. I’ve started to just get carbon hulls for the time being, particularly on my faster boats.
What part of FL are you in?
Dang bummer on the esc but sick paint job on the UL! Man, I’ll have to check out your Genesis vids, that boat looks so sleek!
Man 4mph gain with just adjusting the pickups, that’s good to know. I’m wanting to go with a dual pickup rudder as well. Let me know if you find one that works. Nice vid, liked and subbed!
Thanks brother. We’ll have some more videos out soon. Weather permitting. I’m confident I can get at least mid 70s with the set up without changing electronics.
The boat is running g too wet. You need to adjust trim tabs and strut position, SMC high mah battery and low voltage cut out disabled. You will find it will pick up a fair bit More speed
Do you have the low voltage cut off set to off that will take your batteries if they are not great out of the equation. Just don’t run it for to many passes
I don’t have the program card to change the settings but I wouldn’t set to completely off anyway.
The only reason to set it to off is for a short test it would tell you that your battery is not good enough if it stopped power cutting. Without the ability to data log it’s a useful tool to tell you your battery isn’t up to the task.
@ Ah I see you now, thanks! The batteries I was using are brand new SMC HV’s but I’m going to do this anyway.
13:25 Oh no.. I get what you're saying about claimed speeds, but the guys doing 90mph are not using stock electronics. Castle that thing up and be done with it
After I get the most out of the stock stuff, Castle will be fitted.
Hey i have a fishing pole with a weighted ball or a sinker setup as a backup! Hey it happens to us all! Now you know! Hopefully it wasnt to bad for you to get your boat back! Merry Xmas and happy new year!
The back end of the boat sit so low in the water that even upside down, the prop was able to push it in lol. Happy holidays to you man!
Hey can you designate a button on your transmitter for an on/off for your throttle, for safety when doing quick adjustments?
Im jealous of the beautiful weather where you are! I'm in NY it is freezing here!! Plus being disabled limits me to when I can go out! Have fun!
Did that bird laugh at you when you crashed? 😂 Very rude!!
@@RDM-RCLOL
Yes, there’s a function on the radio that allows for this. I should start using it!
Hey bud beautiful boat! I would throw 2 nuts on the back of the prop, looks like you have some really nice props, I wouldn't want you to loose one! Thanks for the video and sharing your experiences with all of us!
Thanks, brother! I use the nylon lock nuts and change them out for new ones after a while but yes, using a couple of nuts good practice. Appreciate the feedback and I’ll be putting out more videos when I can.
Not sure if this is an older video, but yeah.. It's crazy how much more power it takes to move a boat vs a car. Merry Christmas!🎄
@@scaleworksRC this video was created Thanksgiving of this yr. Just been really busy and not enough time to edit. I already have another one in the pipeline too with better speed.
@@ModifiedRC0877 No worries, just wasn't sure if you misspoke. Happens to me all the time😄
I got my first mon9 and it has a learning curve different from my cats that I've had, your right they can handle less than ideal conditions and they are a must to have in your fleet. I was also disappointed on the speed, I would have expected much different, especially on 8s! Still a beautiful looking boat! How's the quality of it all other than what you have already mentioned?
@@RDM-RC I’ve already unlocked some speed to show on the next video. The Hull is great but honestly I’m not a fan of hobby wing products and the piggyback vendor I purchased from is a JOKE! More on this too!
@@ModifiedRC0877 You say you don't recommend purchasing from Oxidean- without ever mentioning why?? A statement like that deserves more explaination...
@ it’s coming in the next video. He’s a clown! I heard lots of negative things about him and proved it with my own experience.
It's definetly the best handling v hull. On 8s it can be push over 90mph or even more.
@@gidohc I’m looking to have it running a solid 80 in Oval form. Not sure these electronics will get me there but we’ll see!
🎉 Congratulations on the new boat bud! Merry Christmas from my family tp yours!!
Thx bro! Happy Holidays to you as well.
Wow What would you say was the total cost of that build and how much was salvageable? 🤔
@@scaleworksRC I think I paid $600 for the ARTR version but there’s easily another $400+ there. One ESC, both motors although bearings shot, hardware and props salvaged.
@@ModifiedRC0877 that's not too bad overall, but still.. ouch! Thanks for the reply & hope she's back on the water soon
Sad to see. May I ask did you hit something or did she get squirly on you and the front dug into the water and broke up ? It can still be fixed with some TLC. If you fix it. Carbon fibre the front on inside, around the seams. Do an in inlay and 2 part foam in the bow. Definitely repairable.
@ From what I can tell it got loose and the front went down and barreled hard causing the battery to fly through the left nose. And the hatch came off. Unfortunately, Ive moved on to something else because I just don’t have the time for ANOTHER repair job 😒
It happens to the best of us 😥
GD Bud!! You must have hit something like a turtle! Thats bad but fixable! Sorry that happened to you! If you need help fixing her let me know. We can do it together!
I gave it away already and moved on. Stay tuned for that? 😉
Ouch 😢 sorry brother ! ❤# BoatGang
What happen? It fliped by itself or hit something? Can't see it on video...just asking! Good luck next time! May i ask on how you recovered it?
Didn’t hit anything so not really sure it happened so fast. Luckily, depth of the water there was only 4’. Got in my canoe and used a modified paint roller on an extension pole😂
Beautiful color!!
Can’t wait to see!
Wish I had more than 20min at a time to work on it😢
I finally bit the bullet on one, 3 point water pickup ,4.76 stingers , 5B13*36 prop 3660 KV2726 ,120 amp esc, although I have 2 Shark 150 I am tempted to swap in, Winter coming here but may try to get a run in if we get a calm morning this week. BG4L!
@@grrfy looking forward to seeing it rip!
Found your video a bit late.. nice rigs there! Hope you made it through ok. Liked and subbed
@@scaleworksRC Ty brother
That color idea sounds like it's gonna turn out great! I have a house in Cape Coral! Our house was fine hope all is well with you
@@RDM-RC Glad to hear that brother! You’re north of me by about an hour. I run a handyman business so if you need anything, lmk.
@ModifiedRC0877 hey bud ok yea no worries i will let you know when the time comes! Hope all is well and have a great day
Green with black decals would look sweet!
Glad youre safe! I vote lime green with flake! 🤙
Good to hear your OK brother ! ✌️😎👍
GD bud! She sounded dialed in! What did the damage look like?
What size did you go to ?
@@BlueTA01 I don’t think they were any bigger. It was peace of mind that they wouldn’t come out and the nipple has a larger braid for the cooling tube. I still use zip ties as well.
I prefer pink nipples.
💪
Good stuff considerin the weather n chop 🤙🛥️
New pickups came out clean. Poor epoxy mixed with carbon fiber cut strands into the sponson tips to stiffen it up and get those seems locked together... I noticed all the cables that come from AliExpress are course wire and OSE has fine, they both perform similar. I do notice the course cables are a little louder when not running a liner.
@@RCAddiction805 thanks man! I’m trying to get a new run it but life and FL weather have not been cooperating.
Sweet setup bud!!
@@RDM-RC Thanks. Wish it didn’t sink!
Awesome setup and results, there. I saw how things turned out with that high rake prop and almost ordered one myself to see how it runs. I watched Ironclad RC's video on 'props 101' and learned that those high lift props are for cats and hydros. You can run them on monos, but they have to be tuned to keep the rear in the water. There's no stinger to adjust on this boat, so we're kinda stuck with the 'wide thrust cone' props. I like the 4519, but I'm thinking a 40mm 3 blade at 1.9 pitch would be more blade area = faster
@@scaleworksRC Look forward to seeing your results.
Oh man.. I'm keeping mine in the 40s with the 4519 prop! 😄👍
@@scaleworksRC I’d reinforce the hull if you’re going to keep it going at that speed. After my video I’ve seen a few other ls do the same.
@ModifiedRC0877 Thanks.. yeah I was just thinking of how to go about doing that after I swap ESCs soon. Probably a sheet of glass mat and shoe goo. BG4L 🚤💨👍
@@scaleworksRC an easy cheaper route would be to vinyl wrap the outside. As mentioned, I’ve crashed my UL 19 more times than I can count, including into a cement wall three times and the wrap really saved my butt. You could also do a carbon fiber inlay. I think it’s easier than working with fiberglass
@@ModifiedRC0877 Thanks for that.. I never considered a wrap 👍
Do you have a run video of it? Nice! What battery do you use 6s?
@@mikesrcgarage Run video? 4s. SMC battery.
Smooth Transaction.
@@RCAddiction805 It was all planned 😂
🎶 She’s gone gone gone 🎶 truly sorry to see that, but you know where it’s at right 😃…oh Florida, gator country never mind. Well I know where 3 of my boats are, 12’ft down in lake Rooty, don’t even want to know how muck of my money is at the bottom. This is the price we pay to go faster. Lesson learned it’s all in the floatation floatation floatation 👍
Rescue should have been ready you would have probably saved it...Sucks
Dam, that sucks. Did you have foam in it? Pack your boat with floatation. BUMMER but its part of the hobby! BG4L
@@IRONCLADRC It had a pool noodle in front. Better than the stock foam it came with but I don’t expect the top of the hull to rip apart like that. You can see the Noodle float away 😢
Next time swim for... 🐢🐊 If you are like me you can not just walk away! Get a deep sea fishing pole and 50lb test line, make a grappling hook and spend hours a day dragging the lake for it. I have twice done it with drones. One time it took 26 days but the next time was only 4 days 😭 Sounds crazy but its possible... I have the Tylosaurus UDI022 on 6s... risky but fun while it lasts. Sorry to see that happen🤦♂️
@@mikesrcgarage If it was one of the other boats for sure.
Dam I would have been swimming fighting gators back sucks bro 😎👍
@@sammyboswelldirtybrc7580 if it was one of my other boats, for sure.
Sorry to see...
@@rustyscrewsrc Thx brother
Go home and lick your wounds and build it better!!
ohh man i'm sorry that happened to you!! Thats one of my worries that my boat will sink!! Onward and upward!! On to bigger and better!!
@@RDM-RC Thanks for the Sub and kind words! I definitely won’t be buying anymore plastic hulls. I’ve crashed my UL’s several times and always been repairable. I had plans for that ESC too! Trying to squeeze in content when I can.
@@ModifiedRC0877 your doing great!
