I say again: I never seen somebody so hyped up about a video game. You, buddy, are the first one!

I remember about to start class in University that day. Then I overheard a conversation between two other students and I went over, started talking to them about it. Several hours later at home, my father had the International News on and seen it there too. I tell you, 9/11 changed the world completely.

I mention this on my annual 9/11 episodes of Captain's @ARGH-Cade , but for the record, I was a freshman in high school getting ready for French class. As we got started, the French teacher turned on the TV and there it was: The north tower of the Twin Towers (the one with the antenna on top where Kevin McAllister was in Home Alone 3) on fire. We then saw for ourselves the second plane crashing into the second tower. Everything at school had paused. Then we heard about another plane hitting the Pentagon, and then another plane hitting somewhere in Pennsylvania. We were terrified. Then the principal got on the intercom addressing that President George W. Bush confirmed that this was a terrorist attack. He also mentioned to continue with our day the best we could and not let the enemy intimidate us. All other major businesses were shut down up to several days. Lima, you're right about one thing: We Americans put our differences aside and united as one; hence UNITED States of America. Fast forward 20+ years later, look what's happening now. 2001 in general was a bad year for me and pop culture: Aaliyah, Justin Wilson, George Harrison, Lorenzo Music, and Thuy Trang all pass. The Monday Night Wars and the Attitude Era of the WWF end. Rollerjam and Battledome fold. My grandfather passes. My freshman year of high school was the worst as I was bullied every day, I went through three band directors that year, and I tried to end my life. Yep, 2001 was a year to remember, but for bad reasons.
