See God's Absolute Intervention
Although Jacob experienced God's absolute
protection of his life and possessions,
he feared the threat of his uncle Laban and his sons.
Thus, he could not leave boldly but fled secretly
from his uncle for three days.
When Jacob fled in fear of his brother Esau,
God preserved Jacob's life through the covenant of Bethel.
He also multiplied Jacob's possessions even under the deceitful Laban.
Despite this experience and evidence, Jacob failed to change
his old constitution of running away at crucial moments.
He fled because he feared that his uncle Laban and his sons
would harm his life and take his possessions.
Examine whether your constitution is like that of
Jacob who misunderstood God and was unable to abandon
his own standards in unbelief and unable to speak
the gospel boldly to his idolatrous uncle Laban.
When you engage in the spiritual battle of
dismantling the constitution of your old self
who is ashamed of the gospel,
you can finally see God's absolute intervention.
God has already given you authority to
trample on snakes and scorpions and
to overcome all the power of the enemy.
When you use the power of Jesus Christ
as a weapon in your daily life,
God intervenes and fights for you.
When God intervenes,
no one can harm your life
or take away your possessions.
