Some ppl value records some ppl value longevity. Personally I value someone who has run 10.70 or faster a dozen times spanning over a decade. She qualified for (Jamaican trials are no joke) and participated at every Olympic Games since 2008! That said, Elaine is a fantastic athlete.

How can someone who only had 2 good years in their track career be the goat be so for real. Shelly's consistency makes her the goat. Dominating in 08,09,12,13,15,19,22 that's 7 different years of her winning in a global championship vs Elaine's 16 & 21.. There's a clear distinction between both in terms of consistency. And mentioning Elaine being better in the 200 while that's Shelly's weaker event is absurd lol. Shelly's height gives her the disadvantage and guess what she is still a 21.7 runner which is impressive for her height if we were to bring up any other short athlete who has a PB close to Shelly's in the 200 you would hear a pin drop. You guys throw the word GOAT loosely people like Bolt & Fraser Pryce are GOATS. Those are people who didn't dominate for only 2 years in their career they did beyond that. Bolt tripled in multiple Olympic & world championships, Shelly defended her title in the Olympic and world championships in the 100m.

If it was wind assisted then surely al the other runners would have improved times. I'm sure the judges would have taken that into account.

I analyze the times no one's time in that heat appeared to have a wind advantage. There was a 50 page document on it and I didn't agree since everyone else times where within their Normal performance and didn't appear to be aided.

It was undoubtedly hurricane-aided. By best estimates +5.0-7.0.

When is the last time you saw 6/8 runners set lifetime bests in a quarterfinal? The wind magically read not 0.0, but 0.00 for two quarterfinal heats. That's a virtual impossibility outdoors, especially on a day where right next to it, running the same way at the same time was the triple jump registering 4.0-7.0 gusts during the same window. This was an EXTREMELY windy day. There is ZERO chance these heats were run in 0.00 indicating a CLEAR malfunction of the wind equipment. In 2024 there is exactly 0.00 percent chance this record would be ratified. Actually, it needs to be nullified.

That in itself would have stood as a world record for 30 years. She also ran 21.34 in the 200m Oly final - also obliterating the world record in non-disputed conditions. Why is it so hard to believe she ran 10.49?
