I slowed down, paused & rewound, every foul called on KJ. You might want to do that before you continue to make fools of yourselves.The 1 you're all crying about was the most obvious foul. He hooked Cooper, pulled him then let go and fell down. 1 call (the touch foul) probably shouldn't have been made. And before you start about the one on Jaden, KJ stepped in late and because he did Jaden stepped on his foot. Bad luck but has to be called. You have 5 losses. Only 1 was to Michigan State. And Brad started crying 30 seconds into the game btw. KJ got double screened, was late recovering & jumped into Fears. Late whistle but AGAIN A FOUL.

I’ll just say it. Izzo is like Coach K and others you guys have mentioned. They have no qualms about turning the refs into “their” guys on the hardwood. This mentality violates the spirit of the game (the entire sport) and it needs to stop. Nothing is more “immoral” than this and yet these kinds of coaches preach “character” when the cameras are rolling. You bet I’m mad!!!

I agree with you guys 100! I was once a Registered Illinois High School Basketball Referee. I have seen this poor of a refereeing performance only once before and it involved the same strategy. Foul out the opponent’s best player ASAP. Downright despicable.

The foul is one thing… the after effects of the foul is another. Players feel that they can’t guard their man when refs are calling tick-tack fouls on them. This gives their opponent a huge advantage. This opposite of the ref’s job.

He gets preference because he is a future Hall of Famer. this is a problem with the Big Ten catering to the corporate media wanting the show.

I want to see how they do when they come to Champaign.

I did get the impression that they are not that good. They are undersized and not great shooters or as athletic. They win at home with the crowd but not on the road.

This sounds crazy… but Mo’s hairstyle (to refs) makes him look like he’s a natural born fouler. Change his “do” and you’ll see his phantom foul calls go down. 👍🏼

I agree, bad coaching…. When your team is this flat you have to adjust. You have a 7’ footer and you play him 17 minutes. Did you press, did you switch up assignments, did you show a zone, did you tell them to pass more dribble less, cut to the basket, stop head faking under the basket, did you draw up a single play? Didn’t seem like it.

Riley is fine. He is only Freshman is kind of raw but he will start to dominate next year. KJ should go NBA after this year but Riley should stay at least one more year in my opinion. He needs to build more muscle and improve his defense and he will be NBA lottery. Just be patient. Go Illini!

I agree with Ant about Ben. He looked lost being used just as a spacer ala Goode. His film from Evansville shows a much more diverse set of offensive skills that BU needs to incorporate. Back downs, slashing, passing.
