Roundness errors are typically evaluated by measuring the deviation of the part's surface from the theoretical circle during rotation. It essentially checks the "roundness" of the object on a single plane.

Concentricity Concentricity, on the other hand, is a more complex and stringent measurement that involves assessing the symmetry of two or more diameters about a common center. It is a 3D geometric tolerance that ensures that the geometric centers of all diametrically opposed elements of a part are coincident with a datum axis. Concentricity checks whether different cylindrical features of a part share the same axis. This tolerance is critical in components where parts need to rotate smoothly about a fixed axis, such as in automotive and aerospace shafts, where any misalignment could lead to operational issues.

In summary, while roundness focuses solely on the shape of a feature in a single cross-sectional plane, concentricity involves the relationship of circular features along a common axis throughout the part, making it much more challenging to measure and control.
