Só filme bom, mas faltou um Top Gun, os outros que eu gosto estão todos ai
The teen love triangle plot of SNOW DAY (2000) was basically the Nickelodeon kids version of this movie
17?!
Ok, I'm impressed with the cream in the coffee inspiration for the mushroom cloud effects. So simple and effective!
As was I! Simpler time making movies before CGI lol
If you think this was hard to stomach, you need to watch threads 1984 bbc film. EVEN.MORE.SCARY
I wonder has anyone seen the whole 3 hour long version of this movie
Ward and Anderson
TIckle scene from this movie is such a classic can't get over it how it is filmed. Watching in different dub versions makes it more interesting lol

If only I could go back
The cast for this movie in the correct era would have cost a fortune
How about a review on Malice (1993).
Do one on Escape from New York
Also she was in deep space nine
This film fascinates me. It's like a dream that ultimately ends in nightmare.
l love richard chamberlain❤❤❤😍💝😘😍💝😘😍💝😘😍💝😘😍💝😘😍💝😘😍💝😘😍💝😘❤❤❤❤❤❤
My mom is a Gen Xer and she always did too from The Thorn Birds miniseries.
The DOD refused to help the film, but in no way could they prevent the film from using stock mushroom footage. Much of the launch sequence is from the DOD directed movie "First Strike".
I think that Clara is a real catch. She graduated NYU which is a prestigious university and is a high school chemistry teacher. Very smart girl who earns a good living. She is slim and not so bad looking, certainly not a dog. She has a sweet voice and personality and is kind. Any man would be lucky and proud to have her for a wife. She also won’t be a spoiled brat and materialistic. She’d be happy to be a butcher’s wife
It’s a shame men overlook this woman just because they think she’s not pretty enough for them and don’t want to get to know her and her numerous good qualities and accomplishments and intelligence
In real life this actress Betsy Blair was married to the great gene Kelly for 15 years. Gene was very hot and talented and in many mgm musicals and girls swooned over him. He could have had any beautiful actress but chose Betsy and thought that she was beautiful to him. His leading ladies were the most gorgeous women of that era and he stayed with Betsy And had a daughter with her
Airplane was based more on the movie Zero Hour, rather than Airplane. It even used some of the characters names from the old movie.
Just something you know. You know? Definitely 70s movie dialog.
Love that dialog lol
John seemed like he had a tough time in this movie dealing with at least one Arrogant and entitled motorist and his partner Zipper. At 57 I can still rember the 70s and Zipper definitely sounds like a 70s nickname.
Gen Xer here. I was about 10 when this came out. It was extremely popular and hyped to the max. My parents didn't take me to see it until August and there were still lines around the theatres to get in. People were wearing buttons (so popular in the 80s) that said "I saw E.T.". While I finally saw E.T. and I wasn't completely disappointed but it wasn't what I had expected. I was expecting something along the lines of Star Wars (you can see by my thumbnail I am a real fanatic) or Raiders of the Lost Ark with a lot of action. Ironically, I enjoy it much more as an adult than I did as a kid. I think I understand its purpose more....meaning tolerance and care for all beings. 8/10
I liked this one better than 75. And...the lady who plays Jack Lemon's love interest kinda did it for me, especially when she socked that drunk bitch. You gotta admit she, the drunk bitch, did one hell of an acting job playing the antagonist...she sure antagonized me!
To me, the old lady stoaway was the best character! She didn't win the award bc she was old. Yes this movie rocks! I can see why it was such a hit. This is tied with The Poseiden Adventure for the best of the disaster flicks so popular in the 70s. This probably gets more points for being the 1st but P.A. had the more intense action sequences. The sequels to Airport were good but something about this one was charming and one of a kind.
How were you able to ascertain the audience members' political leanings?
From their questions. Some stated their beliefs.
@@mikesmoviereviews I saw one woman say the Soviets cannot be trusted as they fiddle and even violate treaties. That's not a 'conservative', 'political' view. It's simply an accurate view.
In the early 70's I was really into motorcycles (still am). I was drawn to this film mainly because of the title and subject matter. I remember seeing this at the local drive-in when it was released. I own a DVD copy of this, along with the LP from the same film. The album came with a very large poster of that iconic shot of Monument Valley with Blake and his police bike in the foreground. I'm surprised you didn't touch on any comparison to John Ford's work. Seems like James Guercio may have been at least somewhat influenced by the cinemaphotography from earlier films like 'The Searchers' and 'Sgt. Rutledge'
I couldn’t watch this movie all the way through. I found it annoying rather than funny. Too much Chevy chase
Thanks!! Michelle Johnson is Great in this Movie!! ⭐
Man, I haven't seen this since I saw it in '73. I still remember that ending though. Tothis very day. Thank you for this look back,
You are welcome! If you have any requests let me know!
More wine, Mr. Papageorgio? 😂

Dope review
Saw this on tv as a kid in the mid 70’s as a huge Beretta fan; was impacted by it but could only ever remember the closing of the last scene. Always loved the title and after 50 years I still think about going back and watching it for a second time. Seems insane the Cannes crowd would claim it to be fascist. Would they say the same of Serpico? (Another odd favorite for a kid but truly inspirational)
Cannes could be a pretentious crowd, they probably just thought any police film was fascist.
Buoy is pronounced 'boy' as in 'buoyant'. It's French for floating.
Between this Movie and Three Mile Island it completely shut down one of the major sources of cheap energy for this country, not to mention one of the greenest energies we now have.
2@ @@2 HA XD
😂 0:15 lmao
I got watch National Lampoon's European Vacation on TV on a vacation. I have been to London, Paris, Rome in real life.
One of my favourite movies. All the actors and actresses knocked out of the park.
I clearly remember 'The Day After', when it was released in the 1980s, but I feel 'Threads' had a much higher impact on me due to the crushing level of accuracy it imparted on its audience and the grim long term reality that such a war would have on the world as a whole; as such every effort should be made to avoid this outcome regardless of the justification, in the West, or in the Kremlin, Nuclear Conflict simply isn't worth it.
Agreed. Threads portrayed not only the initial effects of a nuclear exchange but the the years that followed where the few that do survive face starvation. radiation sickness, the total collapse of society. It concludes with Ruths daughter who is mentally retarded as a result of exposure to radiation while still a fetus in turn gives birth to a still born baby. I think that the ending alludes to the fact that the still born baby is deformed. Ruth's daughter starts to scream and the film stops there with the actual scream being silent. It is depiction of England's post nuclear years and of a future that looks something like medieval times and the continuing effects of radiation on the few who remain.
Hilarious movie. Part 2 was pretty good too. If I remember correctly.
"Nowhere? Hahahaha" wow this cheesey.
Jobeth Williams was 🔥back in the day.
