You know I'm kinda starting to wonder if on some level the reason why Ron is fine in being Kim's shadow is because he doesn't want others to know about his genius. He is fine with being around with other geniuses with his positive and warm relationship with the whole epic Possible clan as his major example. What reason for him to be hiding it? Simple. He doesn't want that label for himself. He want a life that is simple and carefree. Like how Kim want to be remembered for being an amazing person to her peers, Ron want to be remembered as a eccentric and chill guy. So, he purposely step to the sidelines and let Kim be in the spotlight especially during the high school years where they are just starting their hero business. He let everybody think that he is random and a clown (which on some level he really is). While he does want attention sometime from others he doesn't really try to take the genius route. The only time he does that it was simply to pass a math class and he quickly regret it because many were suddenly paying attention to him and were expecting big things from him. Do you think Ron's parents are his secret keepers about his hidden genius? Looking back they both had some real sweet moments with him. Both in their own way scolded Ron for putting himself down for not having his bar mitzvah signed and then being proud when he does, having a good time together during Paris, mom really enjoyed cooking for her son when they were living in Norway during the alternate reality and signed him up for a folk dancing class as an attempt for him to make new friends and dad not only once saved his life but also encouraged Ron to take at least some risks in his life. They occasionally uses tough love and misery builds character approach as a way to challenge him and keep him on the right path. They are good parents who are proud of him. I feel that by the end of the show Ron was secretly growing tired of keeping this secret. He grew up over the years and with entering an actual romantic relationship with Kim likely made him feel even guiltier. But because he have kept up this small act for some time he didn't quite know how to break it. The aliens threatening the world kinda made him realizes enough, I don't cares anymore. He likely told Kim, her family and close friends the truth about himself after the finale. He is always going to be the eccentric and goofy Ron but he is no longer going to be acting like he doesn't really know what is going around him. It was time for them both to start letting go some secrets that they each were keeping during the high school years as they start a new chapter of their lives. I like to think that at some point of his later life Ron did ended up opening up his own restaurant with Kim supporting him. I also think that one of the major things that Ron and Kim got going on for them is that they both came from stable households with happily married and good parents. Sure, the Possible and Stoppable parents each got different parenting methods but it doesn't change the fact that they still brought up good kids and instilled good values in them. They had good role models to take example of. They will be fine. P.S. I just realized something interesting. It was cousin Larry who encourages Ron to take the monkey powers for himself in his first appearance. Do you think he somehow knew about the powers/prophecy before the main cast due to his own random research? A power that only few knew about such as the ninjas of Yamanouchi, Monty and Bates. Even the few that do find out some point later such as Team Impossible are implies to be doubtful about it yet cousin Larry not only implies to believes in it but also confidently pushes Ron into that direction. Or am I'm reading too much of it?
