In celebration of Heritage Day 2017, Xanadu Residence has compiled a video where Thembelihle Nyangiwe aka Sir Values recites his traditional poem which is dedicated to Nelson Mandela University and the residence at large.
This poem was performed at the annual first years concert by Sir Values, as an add-on on the XM Choirs' musical performance, which in turn became the winners of the concert.
The second part of the video, is the flag hoisting which was initiated by the Sub-Committee of Xanadu residence as part of their programme called Xanadu Week. The hoisting was officially conducted by the Chairperson of the Sub-Com, Thabiso Letselebe, Primarius 45 of Xanadu Residence, Menzi Shongwe and the GCI Officer of the Sub-Com, Lesego Letsoalo.
The flag hoisting was witnessed by residents of Xanadu, senior residents from Unitas and Veritas and the public at large.
