    Your wrong about the octane, will run better on regular.

    • @bbeicker2
      @bbeicker2 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @gsp49 a difference of 3 octane won't make a difference and didn't make a difference here. The point is to use ethanol free in carbureted engines. Ethanol causes issues on carburetors over long term. It's also "you're" if you're going to try to call people out.

    • @gsp49
      @gsp49 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bbeicker2 only if those carburetors have plastic and rubber O-rings/gaskets (not likely with Mikuni and Kehin carburetors on Hondas. I've seen more carburetors corroded and ruined from the acid in Seafoam and bad gasoline than the ethanol that is an additive in all gasoline. Many people do not understand what the octane rating on gasoline represents, the higher octane numbers means that fuel will burn slower and not have as high of a flash point as the lower octane. Regular gasoline is the hottest burning. I've worked on bikes, jet skis, golf cars half my life, and usually the bad gas (smells sort of like paint thinner) is the gas that the ethanol has evaporated out of. You can make your own ethanol free fuel by pouring it into a bowl and stirring it with a spoon, the same way you remove chlorine from water. Just my 2 cents worth.

      @ia6980 No, it wasn't bad at all. Obviously, electric tilt and trim would be better, but that also adds to the weight of the overall setup. For what I needed, I basically set it where I wanted it while in water and didn't mess with it. The only time I pulled it up to tilt was for trailering.

    In 4:40 of the video, you can see that the fuel is traveling "uphill" from the petcock. So if there is only a little fuel in the tank, there is not enough hydraulic pressure to push the fuel as well as if you had a fuller tank. I think you could just relocate the fuel line a bit lower somehow--maybe shorten it?--to fix this issue.

      Congratulations on your new bike!! I would put an in-line fuel filter just before the carburetor. Some folks reported have some junk in the gas tank so the filter is just some added insurance. Check for loose bolts/nuts and add blue thread locker as needed. Be careful overtightening anything. All of the steel used is chinesium and can snap off easily. Oil your chain and do a good visual inspection prior to riding. The transmission will seem clunky at first, but gets better over use. Good luck!!
