I'm sure you can adjust the trim lenght and pointing depth, I'm not sure I wanna completely close the meplat

Couldn't you get it into the ballpark by putting a feeler guage between the blades, then adjust from there, if needed?

Don't laugh. I did my coaching with the 60-65mm Leica and the 20X eyepiece...which gave me effectively 16X. I could see a very wide swath of the range and the depth of field from 300-1000 yds was incredible. The only thing better was a Unertyl Team Scope...and not by much.

Why would you hollow out the picatinny rails? That just makes them weaker and have flex now.

I don't see how you can ensure the neck of the case is concentric with the body of the case. The machine holds the body and then separately cuts the thickness of the neck.
