This video was taken during my Spitfire flight from Biggin Hill on 31st August 2024. It was an incredible flight in the 1943 Spitfire T.9 - MJ627 (LF MK IXc) which entered service with 441 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) serving with the RAF. This aircraft saw active service in WW2 shooting down an enemy aircraft over Arnhem.
The Spitfire was piloted by Richard Verrall who answered my many questions fully. The briefing and in-flight commentary was first class and very educational. It was an absolute honour to take control of this vintage aircraft, an experience I will never forget.
The flight went from Biggin Hill over to Newhaven, then along Seaford Seafront to Seaford Head, Cuckmere & The Seven Sisters, finally heading inland over Beachy Head back to Biggin Hill. This includes some barrel / victory rolls thrown in for good measure. Thanks to my special lady Bev who gave me the ultimate bucket list experience which I will never forget.
