So, I like to tinker with a lot of things. I seem to start a lot of my videos with the word, "so". So...
Driver seat memory settings with the Dorman 99156 key fob programmer for 2014 GMC Yukon
Tip/trick for preserving driver seat position memory settings when programming new key fobs for the 2014 GMC Yukon. I attempted to replace two old key fobs for my wife's 2014 GMC Yukon. I purchased this Dorman 99156 key fob programmer instead of paying the dealership a bunch of money. This kt comes with the programmer and one key fob. I purchased one other unprogrammed key fob from Amazon. My intent was to simply start fresh with two new key fobs since the OEM key fobs were showing their age. My wife's Yukon has seat memory settings that are associated with the key fobs. If key fob #1 unlocks the car, the driver seat moves to the desired seat position. If key fob #2 unlocks the car, the driver seat moves to that desired seat position. I wasn't thinking about the seat memory to key fob associations when performing the programming. When I used the key fob programmer, I programmed all four key fobs, starting with the older two, and then the two new ones. The order of programming matters. Whichever key fob is programmed first will become key fob number one. Whichever key fob is programmed second will become key fob number two. There are only two preset seat memory positions. Key fobs three and four are irrelevant for seat memory settings. I had to reprogram all four key fobs, paying special attention to the order of programming, making sure I programmed the new replacement key fobs first and second so they were associated with the seat memory profiles. The old key fobs are going to sit in the drawer for years and I don't need them having control over seat position memory.

Fingerbot Plus Dissection, Zigbee Version (looking at the insides)
มุมมอง 514ปีที่แล้ว
Dissection (looking at the insides) of a zigbee Fingerbot Plus. These units were both damaged during shipment from China. One still operated despite the damage. The other operated, but had a piece of broken plastic impeding the gear, thereby limiting its travel (wouldn't travel far enough to actually push a button). I figured I would throw caution to the wind and see what I could do to resurrec...
Seal cable hole through concrete
มุมมอง 85ปีที่แล้ว
I had this random idea to use stress-relieving miniature footballs to seal off a cable pathway I drilled through my 11 inch thick foundation wall. I drilled a 1 3/8 inch hole all the way through the concrete with my rotary hammer and a big SDS plus bit. The cables contained therein are intended to serve a primary and backup sump pump with power and switch controls. I have two other window wells...
Prevent Husky floor mats from floating with Jeep doors off
มุมมอง 463 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a problem that I hadn't found resolved elsewhere outside of purchasing new floor mats which can be quite expensive. The Jeep in the video is a 2009 Jeep JKU. The floor mats are Husky floor mats that are custom sold for this model Jeep. I have them on the front as well as the rear and cargo area. The problem with floating floor mats really only applied to the passenger front seat when I ...
Secure your Hi-Lift jack and still operate your Jeep soft top
มุมมอง 1.3K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I was frustrated by the limited products available to secure a Hi-lift jack in the back of a Jeep JK and still be able to operate the soft top without removing the jack so I made my own. The 2-in split ring hangers can be found at a plumbing supply house. I was not able to find them at your typical Lowe's or Home Depot or Menards. The actual diameter of the roll bar at this location was 2 and 1...

DeWalt DW919 "snake light" drop-in LED upgrade
มุมมอง 6K5 ปีที่แล้ว
www.thefusionlite.com/15luforde.html Not the cheapest solution, but very simple. I went with the 1600 lumen LED upgrade.
Thank you for this video. I was looking for a video on how the motion worked. I need to adapt one for a specific project and your video has halped me decide if i should buy one. I will be😊
Thank you, its hard to visualize 3 yards ! this video is very helpful !
Perfect use of YT here, I salute you.
Seeing the visual is helpful. Thanks!
thanks a lot for sharing. what’s the size of this tarp and where to get it?
@@A.Jimmy_84 I believe the tarp was 10'x14'. I don't recall where I got it.
I can’t get mine to unscrew it’s as tight as hell, won’t budge.
Mine wasn't easy. Patient perseverance maybe? Maybe there are some versions that don't come apart like mine did? Dunno.
How did you manage to remove the plastic lens/cover, mine is dirty from the inside and seems like its not removable.
I was able to GENTLY pry the reflector away from the screw on cap with clear lens cover (put the wooden dowel into the hole that the old-school bulb pokes through and used the dowel as a "soft" pry tool to separate them). As I mentioned, it took some careful "doing".
@@SoooBrian Thanks I hope I dont break mine. I tried twisting it but it would not budge, maybe il try like you mentioned.
I replaced my bulb in same light 2 years ago to led from a normal sized bulb straight from amazon. First one I tried worked
Which LED bulb did you use?
Is that screened top soil, or fill dirt? Did the slope you create help with the drainage?
It is screened top-soul. It absolutely helped with drainage. I planted grass on this to combat erosion (hard to grow anything on the "fill" around here).
very helpful thanks
Thanks! It looks like I got too much dirt. Ah well guess I will just use it to add more raised garden beds.
Good idea!
I also ordered the dirt before I saw this video. Whelp, dirt don't hurt, right?
@@B3nBroughton yeah and funny thing is now I might need even more dirt to fill up the additional garden bed I just bought. What did you do with your extra dirt?
@@kumartiger6192 I just looked for low spots on the yard and spread it around there. Had to plant more grass, but I guess that's okay.
Can never have too much dirt.
Bought 2 of these 5,000 Lumens model and within 1-year neither are working now. One started Flickering then went out. While they were working it was amazing. Nothing brighter on the Planet. The Snake style Neck is the best worklight on the Planet for Construction repair and Automotive used it for everything. Loved it and shared it but didn’t last. Think it runs to Hot in the Head housing. I even drilled Cooling holes into my 18-Volt Dewalt Head. Will try to get a Warranty and let others know if they stand behind it.
How many slid the slider over to see it all tipped out ?
I think they shorted you 1/2 a yard

Thanks for sharing! Ours will get delivered tomorrow and I didn't even think about putting a tarp down. Thanks!!!
Perfect .. just what I was looking to visualize. Thank you!
Looks like WORK to me.. lol
Brian, this is a great video. I didn't want to have to take off my jack everytime I wanted to use my soft top. I couldn't figure out how to mount it inside and not have to take the jack off and on for soft top use. Thank you Bob Simmons South Bend, IN
Thought I was the only one for a while. Glad to know there are others that like to carry a jack and also work a soft top. Seems like such a common thing. Hard to believe there aren't solutions out there.
@@SoooBrian What size screws did you use to secure the bracket through the split ring hangers? Also, since it looks like the brackets are turned in a little at that location, do you think a 42" hi lift would work?
@@bobsimmons7152 the split ring hangers are natively 3/8" threads, which conveniently went right through the Hi-Lift bracket hardware holes without modification. Mine is a 48 inch jack. I bet you could further angle them inward to make up the distance to accommodate a 42 inch jack.
@@SoooBrian Great Thanks Brian!
@@bobsimmons7152 Also, on those split ring hangers, I ditched the original screws that secure the "opening side" of the split ring hanger and replaced with some short stainless screws/bolts along with those stainless acorn nuts.
I just got my bulb. Had to sign at the Post Office for it. I paid with PayPal a month or two ago and waited. It’s really bright…but mine is flickering constantly, and I’m not sure if there’s a fix for that.
Glad you got a bulb assembly! Mine doesn't flicker at all. Are you using a known good, fully charged battery?
Brian, the link you posted is an unsafe site? Do you have a manufacturer, part number and source for the LED bulb? Thanks.
I don't have a different link. That's where I bought it. Paid them and it showed up. I can appreciate your concern about being safe online. @@SoooBrian Did you use PayPal?
@@stevebudra7182 I did.
I emailed the company yesterday and they responded. They offer 4 LEDs: 1500, 1800, 2200, 3000 lumens from $31.60 - $43.30.
Norton Security says it’s an unsafe site. I emailed the seller twice asking if there’s an alternative way to pay but they haven’t responded. I also received an email from PayPal saying the order is just a few clicks away, click here to complete, etc. but the sales price in the email is $3260 USD vs. $32.60. Maybe it’s a mistake but I’m not completing it. I’d suggest caution here.
What is the bulb??
It's a 48 LED module located at www.thefusionlite.com/15luforde.html
what is the dirt for?
For filling in low spots around the house. To build a slight slope away from the house for drainage.
Like you I 'inherited' one of these work lights from the FiL and have been wondering about converting it to LED. Thanks to your video I now know it is an option when the bulb gives out. 👍
So much brighter and effective with the new setup. The flashlight app on my phone is brighter than the stock bulb.
Thank four sharing i have the same sive bed now i know what to tell the landfill👌
Thank you for sharing this info. It does help to see it.
That is very useful. Does NASA use the same method?
What size tarp are you using?
Like 10x14 or something.
