I had trouble prying the first (lower) mount, so I nipped off the plastic anchor shaped mount from the back using a set of dikes (side cutters) to remove the cable. Sure it destroys the plastic anchor shaped flare mount, but the new part comes with it so it only saves time to nip it off.

The upper clip requiers a small/slim standard screwdriver to wedge in-between the plastic clip and the slim metal rail it is mounted to. 1) Wedge the screwdriver between metal and plastic clip. 2) Pry down or up on screw driver while simultaneously pulling on clip until it comes off metal mounting rail.

I'm doing this to my car this weekend. There are no codes given neither does the check engine light turn on, the tach meter reads 0 sometimes and my car turns off at red lights or when parked. Wish me luck!

@@memoryrinehart Yes! I think the code might have also went away but I don't remember. But yes my car started right away after I switched it out and I took it for a test drive on the freeway and it ran like normal!

Thank you! I’m about to unwrap this thing and once I do I can’t return it. Gives me a lot of confidence I diagnosed it properly. Being an amateur mechanic is great with the internet and search engines lol. Mine would shut off coming to stops and after sitting idle for a while. I just noticed today the tach was reading zero at one point while it was on. Thanks you! No codes for me

A major detail is to make sure the sensor is almost perfect in the middle and straight in. Also, that the sensor is fully in the the hole. I just replaced the sensor on my 2013 Hyundai accent and I guessed my installment of the sensor was a bit crooked and not fully bolted in so the car would not start afterwards. Recommendation is to lift the O ring to the middle of the part of the sensor it is on . It will make its way down to the base when you ratchet the bolt in.

In another video the sensor was just under the throttle body on the transmission???

Maybe that's the camshaft position sensor in that video instead of the crankshaft position sensor in this video?

@@EdisonUSA it's not the crankshaft position sensor i just changed it it's next to the oil filter underneath the car as long as you jack up the car safety about a foot you'll have lot's of room to get at it without any stress just wear a good pair of safety goggles!

Thank you for the perfect explanation. It took me about 30 minutes and this video definitely helped me avoid a lot of struggle that I would have had. To others having the faulty starting and shutting off in traffic, the P0335 error code refers to this part. I previously changed the 2 sensors on top of the engine and the issue persisted. This video is the solution.
