There was actually a 4th book released in the Inkheart series last year. I'd definitely recommend reading the 3rd and fourth they are so good!❤

I love fantasy and sci-fi and a recent discovery is Robin Hobb starting with Assassin’s apprentice, part one in the Farseer trilogy. There’s actually three trilogies but don’t let that scare you! Once you’ve fallen in love with Fitz and the Fool and of course the wolf Night eyes, you will just want more 😊

I have done the survey, it realised after that I had under estimated how many knits I had finished this year. Look forward to hearing the results. 😊

I recommend Ursula LeGuin’s fantasy books. Her worldbuilding is solid and her language is beautiful, and there are also plenty of relevant female characters, which is important to me (and lack of which really bothers me in Tolkien). Also I recommend Nnedi Okorafor’s Who fears death. If you want something cozy, maybe Diana Wynne-Jones’s books might be delightful. I enjoyed N.K.Jemisin and think she managed to create something completely new, but if you did not really like it that much, maybe move on to other books for now? Reading should be enjoyable and there are so many lovely books waiting for you!

Fantasy is my favourite genre to read, I really appreciate the little book reviews 🥰!!

My favorite fantsey series is Ursula K Le Guin's Earth Sea Trilogy- so good! I also enjoy Marion Zimmer Bradley's the Mists of Avalon. Thanks for sharing! I am knitting on an Angrboda Shawl as I watch your vlogmas, feeling very festive! ❤

Really do hope you will enjoy Tress! Inkheart is one of my favorite series my german teacher recommended it to us back in school and Cornelia Funke is a very famous children author in Germany. The series has actually four books now, she released the fourth book last year. Haven't read it myself yet. Love The Wheel of Time series so much I really want to read books too. Also I have the same LOTR editions😄

I grew up reading the Narnia books in the 70s because my mom has always been a C.S. Lewis fan. The various series and movies are ok but never like the books! Same with LotR when I was older, it‘s my daughter (now 34) who is the big fan of both book & movies, also the whole HP craze was with her and I really like those, too. As a child I liked but was also freaked out a bit by The Silver Crown by Robert C.O‘Brien… 😱 Did you ever read the Wildwood books by Colin Meloy? I really liked the first one, in particular. While watching, I‘ve been knitting an Elvira angel by Leknit, a palate cleanser between socks and sweaters for Christmas! 😇

The coffee jar that says sylt broke my mind for a second 😂 I could not process the fact coffee in Swedish sounds so similar to jam in Norwegian until I had the lightbulb moment that it might just be a jam jar after all, used for coffee…

I'm really interested in your new sweater, as the first time I encountered Hillesvåg Sølje (also in a rust colour lol) I made a shawl with a similar kind of textured detail (Azzu's Shawl by Emma Fassio), possibly reversed with the yarnovers and garter st, but I am very much reminded of it! How interesting that you are inspired by the Alpine Krampus. There are so many versions of him, it's fascinating to me to compare Scandinavian folklore and Alpine folklore and cultures, it's becoming my pet hobby ;) Since I was a child I have loved wearing dirndl dresses (I am half German) and I still do, it feels great to wear them but where I live it has a rather negative connotation, so I don't wear mine very often, just sometimes at Christmas at home :( Maybe that is why I love seeing you, Sara Wallgren and Lina Odell wearing your wonderful clothes so much. And...one of my next projects is going to be an Islender using some Breton and some Ameland wools I want to combine <3 Good luck finishing Robin's sweater :)

Göteborg är Göteborg och ger oss fuktigt väder kring nollan, så lite varmare vantar behövs ☺️Mycket fin färg, men skulle nog hålla med din mamma om att den är brun. (Givet att vi pratar om samma färg!)

Most vintage patterns are still under copyright here in the US. I'm not sure about there. People do often photograph such things and upload them without issue because the magazines don't care and don't go after them, but that doesn't make it technically legal. I've seen other youtubers receive permission from magazines before though. Others rewrite the pattern themselves. It's only the exact form of the pattern that is protected, written down in those exact words, not the overall design. That's how you get those re-charted Herbert Niebling patterns being passed around.

We have those balls in the US, but there isn't one standard name. They're common in cookbooks for "no bake" cookies and desserts. Some people have family recipes or will recognize them but don't really have a name for them. My ex's family made a version they called "turd balls" because they were gross looking.
