This is Åkstar Virtanen (Jesse Highley), a gentleman of mixed heritage steaming from Finish, German and Russian decent. He was inspired by the televised dance parties of the 70s and 80s. American Bandstand, Solid Gold, Soul Train, The Midnight Special... They all showcased background dancers varying from amateur to professional. Åkstar is just that. He's an amateur lover of the dance! He doesn't care what others may think. He dances like EVERYONE is watching and LOVES every minute. He is meant to encourage those who may not be at a level of professionalism when it comes to the dance. Åkstar is best when mixed in with the crowd. He wants to make friends with the audience while inspiring and uplifting those around him. As a beacon of positivity, Åkstar NEVER gives up even when feeling defeated. He is loved by all and is a shining example that it is OK to be yourself, no matter what others my say or think. He may not have ALL the moves but the ones he has, are FABULOUS!!!
