I've said for years now, the only person who plays Doc Watson better than Billy Strings was Doc Watson.

I began following Derek when he was 19 and Just joined the Allman Brothers. See him every time he comes around (Aug 28 Philly). Nobody on the planet sounds like him. His guitar playing is exquisite. Modal Indian and African tones, swamp blues, jazz etc. He is fluent in all of it. What a master of his craft.

Thank you, Billy, once again. for Summertime, my Daddy playing his simple bluegrass singing into his mic, sometimes with his harmonica, too, they both sang me Summertime when I was baby. I can only play the very rudimentary version, lol. and I appreciate you and all your band with you on this journey, enlightening the young and making the old smile with goosebumps and chills.
