At Duckett Ladd, we know you want to be in control of your practice and your life. In order to do that, you need to build a practice that supports the life you want to live. The problem is that you were trained to be a dentist, not an entrepreneur, which can make you feel overwhelmed with the business side of the practice.
We believe you’ve worked hard and deserve to have a practice that gives you the life you desire. We understand how frustrating the business side of dentistry can be and we know you can’t care for your patients if you can’t care for your practice. That’s why we use our years of specialized experience in dentistry to help dentists successfully run their practices.
Here’s how we do it.
We start by diagnosing your practice. Then, we work with you to develop a treatment plan for growth so you can finally enjoy the practice you deserve.

You mentioned you would have links to the mileage tracking apps in the description. Can you provide those please? Thanks
I have heard production per operatory should be 20-25k? What do think about that and how the two metric goals are equal? As you ad ops and get larger you could be adding two FTE to help with that op, maybe a hyg and will need additional Front office support.
That is a great question! Check out our thoughts on Revenue Per Operatory here: th-cam.com/video/X1omQo6PRk4/w-d-xo.html
Do you include an associate doctor in that calculation?
A great question and one we get asked many times. The answer is no, typically the owning doctors and associates are not included in the calculation. Thank you for watching!
We were just talking about this at our Monday morning meeting so everyone is aware of what's going on here. Really important for people to know about.
We agree! Thanks Jay!
I own a single office, and I essentially only use my vehicle to commute to/from the office (90 miles daily). Is it true that I am unable to write off my vehicle since it is only used to commute?
Correct, but you could possibly look at establishing an administrative office out of your home to possibly convert the commuting miles to business miles. Stay tuned to future episodes of Tax Tip Tuesday as this is a topic we will cover in the next couple of months, thanks!
Hi May You provide me with a link to apply please thank you
I believe the deadline to apply for funding was 11.6.20.
Thank u for updates. So for 2021 if we qualify in Q1 2021 for ERTC based on revenues reduction ..... are we automatically therefore qualified for ERTC IN Q2 AND Q3 AND Q4??
What do the grants pay for
For a specific employee if they already had 80 hours attributed to FFRCA in 2020 for their own covid recovery .... can we charge a few hours more ( over 80) for this employee for Covid Shot and recovery in 2021?
Great question, and the answer is yes, as long as the vaccine time off is after April 1. The hours limits reset as of April 1, so they have an additional 10 days/80 hours per employee to use.
What if u only got a few thousand? I only got 9600. Do you still get a bigger increase?
Can you apply again if you were denied the first one?
I filled out and faxed 7200 over a month ago (January 2021 form) .... no word or check from IRS .... anyone receiving 7200 credit checks from IRS?? Similarly sent in 941X for Q2 2020 for ERC .... have not gotten anything on that from IRS yet ... but I was mentally prepared that that may take a while ... but the faxing of 7200 ... I thought the intent was to get that $$$ to struggling businesses ASAP ... I sure could use it and would love to hear of other's 2021 7200 IRS responses with credit checks
Thank you for this video. Do businesses such as child care providers deemed 'Essential' but were ordered to partially shut down qualify for the ERTC?
Thank you for this video. Do businesses such as child care providers deemed 'Essential' but were ordered to partially shut down qualify for the ERTC?
Now what about people that applying for the 1st...
I'm exhausted with this thing for the past few weeks with my business lol. I believe I meet the criteria. My issue, eligibility wise, is that I opened my business Dec 2019 so I do not have a quarter in 2019 to compare. I was hoping to use this for q4 2020 but it's not looking like it for that reason
Look at FAQ #44 and #45 to see if it answers your question at the following link. They haven't updated this for the new changes in the 12/27 stimulus, but expect updates soon. www.irs.gov/newsroom/covid-19-related-employee-retention-credits-determining-when-an-employer-is-considered-to-have-a-significant-decline-in-gross-receipts-and-maximum-amount-of-an-eligible-employers-employee-retention#determining-when-employer-considered-have-significant-decline-in-gross-receipts
Thanks for recording this. Are part-time employee wages eligible for the ERTC or is it only for full time employees?
@@duckettladd8797 Have you seen specific wording in the new Cares act reflecting this? Another TH-cam CPA told me that it applied to all wages whether full time or part time.
I deleted my initial reply as I stated that incorrectly. I haven't seen anything authoritative that limits qualified wages to full-time employees. Look at FAQ #48 of the link below. It specifically states any employee. Also, I do not see anything that limits it to full-time employees in Section 2301 of the Cares Act. www.irs.gov/newsroom/covid-19-related-employee-retention-credits-determining-qualified-wages-faqs

Hi Is it possible to get a copy of your spreadsheet? Thank you for informing the public.
Fantastic insights here, and some crucial points for personal and professional growth. Thanks for consistently spreading knowledge!
Employers should simply say no and refuse to go along with this. It's entirely up to them. If they don't want to defer they don't have to. It's a bad deal for employees.
Very informative. I applied a week ago. Not quite sure how and when I will be notified whether accepted or rejected.

If say Lisa was making $450 a week in tips and salary and now making $800 plus on Unemployment check, Can I have to offer her the same money to convince her to come to work? So can Isend her a check for $800 plus to stay home? ps I am not going to report anyone that refuse to comeback I WILL need my employees soon this inferno is over so I want to stay into good terms. Thank you.
John, hard to answer as they might change rules this week with new legislation. Keep updated to our channel as we release future videos after any legislation is passed.

Hi, thank you again for the incredible amount of work you are supplying us with. I have a question, all my servers at my restaurant (closed) apply and making even better money with unemployment, the other side of my business all takes out and delivery which since we doing more business then before ( for take out, the loss of the restaurant part is tremendous) so I hire more new people for delivery and counter and bump up hours to the older take out crew. Almost to the point that we have the same payroll as before closing, I hire my daughter in law my 2 sons, etc. The question is: Can I still get penalized if I don't invite back the all crew that are collecting? Thank you.
John, for the FTE reduction clause, it doesn't have to be the same person as before, just the same number of FTEs, make sense?
@@duckettladd8797 Thanks, just hearing different things about that subject. So I can hire my son as a part time with no problem?

How did you get your PPP Proceeds set up as INCOME when it's a liability?
Great point Cheryl, technically it is a loan until deemed forgiven. For this reporting purpose, you would classify as income and any amount not forgiven will be re-classed as a liability. But if you were to present an accurate balance sheet during the 8-week period it would need to be classified as a loan. Make sense?
