    • @AskYourPainDoc
      @AskYourPainDoc 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Addiction has more social connotation, however, after taking oxycodone for five years, you’ll probably have built some tolerance and your dependence on it that means that if you miss those, you may have withdrawal symptoms. if you follow your doctors recommendation and use this medication as prescribe, you are not addicted

    Thankyou for info, wish it was more encouraging but obviously you've given us the facts. Do any people ever really get rid of this wretched thing? My husband has this and was told got it in the worse place ever around his eye face and head. He was sent to a proper eye clinic to check for and permanent eye / vision problems but thankfully all clear. His on gabapentin which is stopping what was the unbearable painful stabbing attacks and unbearable it was too. What percentage make a full recovery and how long? I'm looking into the route of homeopathic for him as I know of a lady that helped with this for other people. Please reply to my message.

There are lots of straight lines and variant angles. Maybe some humans have more of a angular subconscious than the rest of you. This is bizzare. A few yearago I began to have chronic pain. Over time I began doodling shapes, patterns, etc on scrap paper. I then began to draw on graph paper. I draw everyday, a few hours a day. I was curious as to why I suddenly began to draw for hours at a time. I get great satisfaction and my pain is lowered. It seems as if my subconscious mind lead me to this. It has almost become an addiction. I do not think I could go a day without drawing. Some of them are pretty good. I draw geometric shapes, mandalas, surreal psychadelic worlds. It works! It does not take all my pain away, but it definitely diverts my pain a few hours a day. My body needed an outlet and found one. Amazing. Thank You for explaining.

    This is doodling, just a specific style. Much better than zen doodling which I see as stifling the creative output by having to follow set patterns given you. Not till you break out of that and let the unconscious guide you are you truly doodling. I've been doing this since I was 15 and saw a painting on the back of a sf book. I'm 65 this year. This style is much more flowing and creative while giving a guideline style. I'd encourage you to go with flow and do your own thing as the mood takes you. I like to draw watching something... Then I feel 100% of my attention is on what I am watching and on what I'm drawing. Unconsciously I pick up patterns from what I'm watching. My whole brain is engaged so I don't think or stress about anything. My hands itch (without an itch) if I don't draw every day. Usually gel ink on Bristol paper (smoothest paper). Today I went to a craft afternoon where we drew on rocks. With acrylic felt tip. A new doodle medium unlocked.

    I really wish I could say baclofen is a “safe” medication to take. About 2 weeks ago my doctor prescribed this med to me for low back pain at 10mg 2x/day. I am ONLY taking 10mg at night before bed because I wanted to start slowly. Within 6 days I began to have tingling in one foot. Then, it became tingling, toe cramps and toes twitching. Within 2 days of that it started in the other foot. Electric shocks began after that in both my feet and my lower legs. The following day I felt some of that in my arms. I have to mention I am also on 100mg/day of gabapentin for sciatica and I don’t take any other meds either before or after my recent low back pain diagnosis. My blood work is perfect (sugars, cholesterol, etc.) and blood pressure is normal. I am 61 yrs. old and also only have one kidney. I’ve worked hard to maintain this physical standard for years. As per drugs.com, baclofen can cause “tingling, or twitching in your hands, arms, feet, or legs”. In addition, there are multitudes of people in online forums complaining about similar issues. But, my major issue is that baclofen is extremely difficult to stop taking. You cannot just stop it overnight without some serious side effects. My doctor never even mentioned this to me. I had to read it in the pamphlet that came with the medication. This is important information that should be presented to the patient while they’re in the office talking to their physician. After these symptoms began, I decided it was probably the baclofen causing my problems because I seemed okay on the low dose of gabapentin by itself. As soon as I started to titrate baclofen from 10mg to 7.5mg/day, I noticed some improvement in my symptoms. However, I started to have diarrhea on 3rd day (withdrawal?) which must’ve reduced both meds in my system tremendously because the symptoms in my feet completely stopped AND the low back pain started to return. Even though the symptoms went away I still didn’t think it was safe to just stop it so I took my next dose (7.5mg) that evening. Just 40 minutes later the tingling, twitching and electric shocks returned to feet, legs, hands and arms. My problem is not knowing how long to stay at a lower dose before dropping it to the next level (in my case 5mg) without incurring withdrawal symptoms such as the diarrhea. My stomach has not been good and the returning back pain is also worrisome. I am seeing my doctor this week to get more advice. I am mentioning all of this so other viewers and yourself can be aware that some of these symptoms might be coming from baclofen. These days too many drug side effects are being written off or ignored. I have lost faith in big pharma and as a patient I am looking to my doctors and pharmacists to really know the drugs they are prescribing because some of these side effects lead to misuse of the drug or worse yet, a new diagnosis which could lead to more meds being prescribed with even more worrisome side effects. Thanks for listening.
