In 1977 I was in Vincennes near Paris when the owner of a restaurant we walked into, asked me to leave. I was a bit flabbergasted and seeing that my French isn't that great I didn't understand what he was on about. Turns out he thought I was Jewish. The owner was Algerian. No, I am not Jewish and yes my ancestors were Jewish.
