I know when I hear music that will last far into the future and Del Amitri's music will be around for centuries. I listen to the crap that's being passed as music nowadays & some of it is great but there will never be another Del Amitri but if there is of course I'll be the last to know.

This song is a guy bitching about his girlfriend keeping secrets and how much it hurt - then at the end he admits he cheated on her and never told her. ...how narcissistic can you get? I work retail and have to listen to this song every single day, and frankly it is a perfect example of everything that's wrong with modern day dating.

OMG I just heard this on a 90's radio station for the first time since the 90's...... just amazing !!

I remember I use to listen to this song when it came out. And I was looking for it on TH-cam. I found it and Downloaded it onto my mobile. Can't stop listening to it.

Currie is an excellent purveyor of stories told by an unreliable narrator. It is an entire genre of films, literature and music, stories told from a misleading point of view, a switch to the perceived moral center or by some stupid bastard whose words betray his true feelings.

All of the above Chet. Ricky , not sure what menstruation has to do with Scottish folk music ... yeh , this is folk music ! If James the 6th had wanted it to be rock he would have put a pebble in it !

So is the songwriter mourning his ex-girlfriends perfidy...or his own blindness, as well as his eventual reference to his own betrayal? (I kind of favor the later interpretation, but maybe that's just me, mapping my own life onto a pop song)
