I had the 340 version, what a turd of a machine 😂.
I see a 1969 steering support has been added so the hood can come off easier
I had a 292…it shook itself to death
okay yup, I'm busting mine out of the basement now
Nozzle check valve, very important! Nice vid!
Nice 12/3! I have a 1970 as well. Its minty, no cracks in the hood, has the original yellow tint windshield. Original seat and backrest are perfect. I'm replacing all the bogie rubber wheels as some have hairline cracks, also putting a new track on it although the original still looks good. I had the crankcase seals replaced as well just to be safe. I also picked up a spare 299cc engine, so she should be good for years of fun ahead.
Wish I could ask a few questions... I bought a restored 72 Olympic 300.... but it has the high back, like yours... I thought 300 were flat back in 72. 335 and others are like yours.. I have others. 335, 399, 340... Thinking of putting the 335 in it and trying to find a 335 badge for the engine cover...
Sounds great 👍
Where did you get the tracks i need a new one
I want that sled
They were a quick sled. I had a '71 Olympic 399, and the 335 was just about as fast.
Mine idles lower mine idles at like 800 rpm
I miss mine. It was heavy but it was fun.
You got a good show going here. Glad I ran across your channel. Thanks for sharing your hobbies with us, I especially like the old sleds. Hope you decide to keep it going Thanks again
Big block Rotax 640 with twin carb setup. Nice engine.
Hi, how can we contact you for business inquiry?
Hi, how can we contact you for business inquiry?
We got a 340 silver bullet abd its got no rust and is all original too
Nice video :) But my advice. Don't stabilize the fuel. Drain it out completely. Run it in your car, Even mixed gas wont hurt a car running it it once in awhile , But in draining your tank, The carbs will be bone dry then and stay clean. Run the snowmobile until it runs out of gas completely, Fogging it while it's still running on whats in the fuel system and carbs. Leave your cap slightly loose, The tank can then breath and no moisture will remain anywhere. Then oil your cylinders with either two stroke or fogging oil. Turn over the engine a few times by hand. , Then get both pistons both at the equal position to each other. squirt or spray more oil or fogging oil in each cylinder, And let it all sit. ;) And you'll be trouble free next fall ;) Cheers :) Very good video :)
Big angry 1 lunger hero
I’m pretty sure that’s a 71 sled with a 72 hood. The 71s came with yellow skis and fake wood dash. You gotta check the vin over if you want to know for sure
I recently got the same motor for my Jon boat. I've been conflicted on the gas to oil ratio. The side of the motor says 100:1 but i've read I should use 50:1. Any suggestions?
Quanti nodi?
1972 Elan only works when I put a little bit of gas in the cylinder and stops when that gas is burn’t , any suggestions?
Sounds like the carburetor needs to be rebuilt. Also check and make sure your fuel lines/fuel filter is in good shape. Sometimes the gas line in the tank falls off and then it won’t suck any gas.
Helped me out
Os this a wankel?
Rotax
Sounds strong!
Sweet video can you please tell me how to wire up my coils and which wires im supposed to use to start it thanks
Great video can you please explain how to wire up my coils i can't see exactly which wires go where i have the same colors thanks alot
Weel seize?
Did you make a video of the redo
Mark 2 skiboose...I have the same exact sled and skiboose
I had a ‘71 olympique 399. Drove it a ton of miles over 5 or 6 winters. A great sled. Bulletproof. All it ever needed were a new track and ski runners.
Well played😂
That’s a nice one I have a rare 1967 skidoo alpine appossed twin 370
I have a 1973 250 twin Elan. The sled just won't steer properly. I even had ski - widers on it but took them off , same problem , it doesn't steer. I also need to spray starter fluid into the carb to get it going. I did have a mechanic clean the carb a bit 2 years ago and he removed the primer bulb. He had it running like a watch. I still need the starter fluid. Any suggestions I would greatly appreciate. Thx Michael
Electric start! In 1972….almost as cool as Yamahas oil injections
The first snowmobile I ever seen was a 1969 Olympic. Been in love with snowmobiles ever since
Do You want to sell it
that was the trappers choice
That’ll take you straight to stucktown
no such thing on a 67 bomb
She mint ied give her a rip
My first sled was a 69 ski doo Olympic with a 299cc
RX100
I had a 399 Capri same mill. I got it for a case of Molson Canadian back in the late 90's thing only had 180 miles on it. Guy parked it saying once it got hot it wouldn't start. So I had another 340 JLO and put the coils off it on the 399, end of problem good old sleds. I also put ski wideners on mine as well.60-65 mph tops on a flat surface
That sounds intense
Thats a mark II. First part of the serial number should be 2902
Love it !! Looking for one
Beautiful…looking for a motor just like that
Would a 79 have the same recoil?
