since entering high school (i'm a junior now), i've valued gaining acceptance to a name school above everything, even my own health, and this video literally woke me up. thank you so much for your honesty in applying to schools and in your youtube journey. I tend to focus so much on the name schools on guaranteeing myself a successful, happy life bc like why are they name schools if they're not good? but you've definitely helped me see that it's my own self that builds the life that I want. I love your signature style in your content and the person you are where you focus on mindset and strength of character, that's something i've never encountered before on this platform so all your advice means sm to me!

Love the video! I’m not sure if you’ll see this question but I wanted to ask something that other people might have in mind when starting a business. So when you’re starting something, and you ask your best friends to like follow your page for example and they don’t. How should you feel about it? Like should you feel sad/petty or this is something you shouldn’t really care about?

I can agree with the general sentinment of working hard to acheive your goals but the guilt-tripping is something I can't get behind. Just like her grandfather was unlucky enough to be born in poverty most of us who were born into "privelege" didn't choose this either. I would argue that demonizing our current environment that allows us to opportunity to live above a subsistence level is just as disrespectful as squandering opportunities that your parents gave you. We have all the things that we have because the generations before us didn't want their descendants to continue living in poverty having to work difficult manual labor jobs just to scrape by. It could be argued that we should honor their sacrifices by enjoying are current privleges. And just because your grandparents had to go through a lot for you to be where you are today doesn't mean you are obligated to go to school or study or being "highly successful". First of all, what is it that is considered highly successful? Making a lot of money? Having a lot of kids? Being high-status? It's great that his sacrifices put you in a positon where you have those options but that is all they are, options. He chose to have kids who in turn chose to have kids. And I'm sure no one put a gun to their heads and forced them to do that. So for them to force another being into existence who didn't ask for it and expecting that being to "repay" them as if they were just some little investment that didn't have thoughts and desires of their own is just as selfish as "squandering" their sacrifices. I'm sorry your grandfather made all those sacrifices to get to a better spot in life but just like you mentioned about tough love, that's, well, tough. You are no one's property just because they did a bunch of things that you did not ask them to do. A parent's responsibility is to give their child what they need to have a decent or better life. A child's responsibility is to recognize what their parents did, maybe say thank you every now and again and not spit in their parents' face but that's it. You are your own person and you are not obligated to do things to please them. Period.

Doing "what is asked of you to do in certain time period of life " gives a certain security but it also comes with a very negative side and is one of the main reason why so many people feel ashamed of their uniqe path or unable to connect with other people because they did not meet the specific expectation of society where you "should be" at a certain age and are constantly looked down at by people who think that following these sociatal norms is the only way to exist.

And now at 21 even after i removed the fat from under my chin i realised i've gone to the "2nd puberty" (when your bones especially from the head go wider not longer - i hope what i'm saying makes sense, your shoulders widen, your ribs - even if you are skinny you are more massive. I can easily guess if a person is a teen or an adult based on this changes. Even if for ex i see a short petite skinny girl i now if she is in her teen years or adult ones cause i look at her bone structure)

20:21 it is still hard for me to accept my new apperance because in my mind i still see myself looking like my 13-15 year old self. And now and then i realize that i am not anymore and that is JUST FINE. In my case the surgery helped me feel better about myself cause i couldn't stabd looking at my face in the mirror. And prevented me from aging prematurely cause in my family we have a predisposition for this. But i thank God that i am ok now with myself because i could've had more destructive thoughts about my apperance. I have lip asymmetry, an uneven nose bridge but i now can say that i love myself as I am. We are not perfect, we fluctuate our entire life, menstrual cycle phases can alterate our perception. We re getting old. Maybe our weight fluctuates as well. I realized it is more important to take care of myself, of my health, than to be worried about my weight or the pimples and blackheads on my face or my belly. Because when you prioritize health everything will follow it - weight loss, high self esteem, happiness etc. We don't need to be hard on ourselves. We need to be GOOD PEOPLE. Heart, soul - moral principles, energy - and intelligence (both EQ and IQ) are more valuable than anything else. Stay safe all and have a lovely day. God bless you.

03:09 i can understand what you are saying. But if you find out random from someone or somewhere about a celebrity's personal life can be an example of what you shouldn't do or should to and reinforce the idea that no one is perfect and we all should be a better person. But on the other hand we shouldn't deliberately use our precious time "researching" celebrities lives. We should maximize ours.

Believe me hon, we are listening. My family's followed a similar trajectory to yours (fellow South Asian here!), and I am here to tell you that it is those very same spoiled brats who've convinced us that we sound like old geezers and boomers. This is not boomer behaviour, this is truth and perspective that humanity needs no matter how 'advanced' we get. Perspective is imperative, so try your best to de-condition yourself from the thought that you sound old - the people that labelled this such are the ones that don't want to listen to it because they're happier in their echo chamber. Like you and I have literally been shamed by people who throw tantrums over having to write a 1500 word essay - we're really going to let ourselves be shamed by those airheads? I don't think so.

My master's program felt unchallenging and, in a way, it left me feeling like I wasted valuable time. However, what I’ve realized is that the experience taught me much more than just technical skills. I learned a lot from my fellow students-how they present themselves, how they dive deep into unfamiliar subjects, and how they approach learning. I gained new perspectives and, more importantly, a better understanding of my own weaknesses. Now, I’m considering pursuing a more rigorous master's, but my ultimate goal is to find a job that I’m passionate about and where I can invest my efforts meaningfully. For me, earning a degree just for the name on a CV, without a clear purpose, doesn’t hold much appeal.
