Today, I’m excited to introduce you to my favourite tecno rumba singer ever, _Chus & Chus._ This is the unique stage name of the talented and beautiful María Jesús Montero, or as it's often shortened in Spain, *Chus Montero.*
*Chus* released her first - and unfortunately only - album in 1996, the iconic _Juegos de amor_ (translated as 'Games of Love'), a beautiful collection of songs about love, with most of the songs having a melancholic tone, which is clear from the overall gloomy feel. This amazing album was reissued in 1998, giving more people a chance to hear her incredible music.
One really interesting thing about Chus' style is how she used the same techno sample that a lot of Lithuanian bands were playing around with between 1992 and 1995, such as Dinamika in 1993, for instance, with their track _Musų keliai;_ Solidia, for instance, with their song _Žaisliukas_ from the same year; Tikėjimas, for instance, with their song _Sustok, lietau_ in 1994, or Rasa Bukelytė, for instance, with her song _Nieko keisto_ in 1995, etc.
In my opinion, it's cool to see how music can connect different places in such unexpected ways!
Sadly, like many tecno rumba artists, she only made one album before stepping away from music. Even so, her work has stayed special to those who’ve heard it. Just having a picture of her feels like finding a treasure.
