Crazy Taxi Ride in Shanghai China!
มุมมอง 1162 ปีที่แล้ว
Back in 2006, I experienced Shanghai China for nearly a month. It was an incredible experience. Imagine a modern technologically savvy city married to ancient traditions (bamboo scaffolding on skyscrapers is a great example). One standout was the barely controlled chaos of cars, bicycles and pedestrians all sharing the roads at the same time.

At the start of the video a tall solid fence hides a dam, Diablo Lake, a water supply for the town of Diablo. we used to be able to access it in the 50s for swimming. It had a rope swing on a large oak lakeside.

I remember trailering my mustang to this race all the way from Dallas and had such an awesome time at this race. If I only we could back to this era! I remember the announcer at Fun Ford Weekend in Ennis at Texas Motorplex back in 1994 saying that if your car runs a 12.8 or faster you have a race car. Back then you were fast if you ran 12's or quicker but today, cars come out of the assembly line running those numbers. Me personally, I would rather build a car then buy it already ready to run....

ol’yeah, if you had few parts laying around out in garage put everything together and get 375.. 400hp.. that was really big numbers back then and running anything in the 12’s.. you was really putting it down!

I remember going to All these Mustang/GN races at Englishtown, I'm pretty sure i was here at this event, Back in 1994 Getting out of High School, Bought my 86 Mustang LX 5.0 back in 94. Still have it, Was going Low to Mid Nines when i parked it bout 10 Years Ago, still sitting all Fresh Engine N/A 521 BBF I Remember going to All these E-Town Races, Bought my 86 cause it looked like Jim LaRocca Black Mustang, seen him down there many times along with all the Legends Racin Jason, Jim Briante, Billy Glidden, Jimmy LaRocca, and one of my All time favorite cars was DR That Bad Ass Chris Little, Nasty Green Mustang, remember standing at the line, and when that Nitrous Monster took off was insane. Then he went Turbo. That Car just kicked Ass many times back in my day. All through out the Nineties. Those were good times. Can't believe Englishtown shut down. Great Video, brought back some memories.

Went to pretty much all of these Mustang vs Grand National Events at Englishtown back in the 90,s Think i remember one year the Mustangs Completely Dominated The Buicks, Something like 15 to 1 Out of 16 Races. Nice to see Racin Jason running down the strip again. RIP My Friend. After watching this Video, think this was that Year. It's hard to remember, All the times the Ford's Crushed the General Motors finest. Miss those days. That was Drag Racing. No 1/8 Mile Crap, No Prep, No Time. The Good Ole Days...

This is Truly vintage racing at its FINEST. 👍 those we're the days Stock 4 Stock a well tuned cooled off Turbo Buick Regal could rip off 1450 to times low as 1385 in cold weather. the Fox Bodied mustangs ran 1470 to 1420s stock the Stang with the trunk was a tad bit faster. Both these cars responded Very well to simple Bolt ons and mods. could easily get the cars in the low to mid 13 slap on some slicks headers race gas and it's Hello high to mid 12s with no problem.

I love them grand nationals but if you have one that develops a problem in the motor which we GN owners call "gremlins" the car can be a big headache. Plus detonation = blown head gasket.

This was way before Billy Gliddon was racing his Mustang. They also use to have just the Buick Gran Nationals. If I'm not mistaken, Ford was just 1 up after 5 events, but it was some great friendly competition. Man those were fun times.
