EKO ATLANTIC CITY: HAS IT FAILED?
มุมมอง 8012 ปีที่แล้ว
Eko Atlantic city is a new city in Lagos, Nigeria built on a reclaimed land from the Atlantic ocean. The idea, which was conceived in 2003, was a measure to stop the flooding of Lagos coastline. Since 2016 when the first residential tower in the city was opened, development has been slow. Only few more towers have been built ever since and the city remains largely, a barren land. This leads to ...

ILORIN: A walk to Kwara Hotel from Challenge
Those that always rush to enter the blue line train pushed me today at Marina station and i hit my head on the train. I had to go straight to the hospital when I alighted at my station because I was feelings pains and my head was as if there is stone inside. Please the management should do something about the rushing in of passengers .
Sorry hope you well now
Thanks.This is truly transforming..Im delighted.God bless this government...amen
Progress but the stations need more than one entrance and exit, not only in case of emergencies but to improve throughput. Furthermore an adequate number of trains are needed, minimum of 20 trains on the line.
Very details. Nice presentations
Thanks 👍
Beautiful!!
Congratulations, Lagos! I tried to map it in my video, and footage like this is of great help! Thank you for your work. And enjoy your rides.
Thanks 👍
This redline will start from where and end where?
The phase that is currently being built starts from Oyingbo and terminates at Agbado. However, the second phase of the red line will head to Marina from Oyingbo where it will link up with the blue line.
Kudos to Gov Babajide Sanwoolu
When Will red ,yellow and green line will surphase?
Red line will be ready before the end of this year, according to the governor. The stations are almost ready as you can see in the video.
Eko oni baje!
O baje ti 😄👍
Lovely edifice and development strides in the right direction. However, is it the video coverage or indeed, these mega train stations don't have ramps for handicapped users; what I saw were mostly staircases and escalators (that's what they're called I believe?)
They all have elevators. I think that makes ramp unnecessary since users of wheelchair can get to the platform through elevator. Thanks for the comment 👍
This is very laudable. It's a common sight abroad especially here in UK, but to see it in Lagos Nigeria, is a good beginning. Better late than never. Kudos to SanwoOlu and the past governors that never allowed the project die premature death.
❤❤❤❤❤
I think d yaba station is still far behind
Yes, that's true, but it is close to 90%
Beautiful works! Lagos we go...💃
Wow this is lovely. I love seeing the interior parts. Can you please make something like this for the blue line?

I don't agree, this is much more better
I think the Mobolaji Train station is more beautiful and bigger. Thanks for the update
Agreed.
Yeah this one is only more colourful
the city looks nice but where is the CBD?
The city does not have a planned CBD like you see in big cities
Where is this park situated in Lagos.
It is in Eko Atlantic City, off Ahmadu Bello way, Victoria Island
Thanks
Ya it is I've seen it with my own eyes👀
Jagaban master plan must continue in Lagos Nigeria.
👍
Quê bom que a Nigéria está se desenvolvendo, metrô muda a vida das pessoas
When investors are to wait for another 30 to 50 years in order to fully develop this city, obviously this is a failed project because no stupid investors will put up their money for this kind of investment which they can't enjoy during their lifetime given the snail-like progress of only 3 separate buildings were constructed after almost 18 years since it started in 2005.
It is the investors that are expected to develop the city. The infrastructure is there, you only need to buy a land and build. It isn't about waiting for 20 or 50 years. The problem with the project is mainly caused by economic recession and perceived low purchasing power of the majority of the populace. There are those who have acquired land for many years now only to leave the land barren after groundbreaking ceremony. Let me give you example with Eko Pearls towers. Five towers are planned and only two built till date. The reason for this is simply due to low demand for luxury apartments in the country as the market is meant for only a fragment of the population and EAC has to compete with other prime locations such as Ikoyi, VI and Banana Island in this regard. The problem in short is that there are no enough investors to quickly develop the city and many of those who have invested are not building anything on their portion of land, obviously due to economic situation of the country. You need to consider the inflation and falling value of Naira. Why EAC can't be considered a failure is that it's development will accelerate as soon as the economy of the country improves. It has great layout and world class infrastructure in place. People are living in the city already and businesses have also been established there.
Abidjan métro ❤❤
Every city is beautiful with an aerial view, add little filter, and background music and don't forget to avoid bad areas then you are set
Yes, if that makes you feel good 😎
Jagaban master plan must continue in Lagos.
Shut up ur dirty mouth this has nothing to do with thiefnubu
@@Robio_scorpio on his mandate we stand the Jagaban of Africa and Asiwaju of Lagos Bola Ahmed Tinubu victory sir.
Absolutly not. I see some streets from that city and It have a garbage mountain in the road.
Have you been to Lagos?
No, but I see It in Google maps
@@danipro6455 okay. The city is beautiful notwithstanding. The problem with Lagos is overpopulation. It has some really nice places and the government is doing fairly well in waste management despite challenges posed by overpopulation.
I guess you right
Why the belly-aching. Trash mountain don't exist anywhere in Lagos. Lagos State has street sweepers who are constantly removing trash from the streets. You see them everywhere you go.
Great development.
Why use black & white? That's ugly ... keep the color on please. By the way your video is very old ... Have seen those cities lately? Nothing to do what's shown. Go back and revisit, you will see what I'm talking about ....
Alright, thanks. Your observation is noted
