Where did you get the seat inserts done ?

I know James/TH Racing well: really knowledgeable and friendly. He’s done a full service and brake/suspension refresh on our old 996.2 Turbo; also, he installed a full size Android infotainment unit with rear camera on our 997.2 GTS. Oh, and he is quick on a race track! Top fella and would totally recommend THR as your Porsche specialist👍

944 is still a beautiful car.

Nothing for the 997 ever sounds as good as an OEM or aftermarket exhaust for a 996. I want to change my PSE but there doesn’t seem to be a huge difference in sound from what’s available.

Paying to come to megaphonics 24, little on the pricey side and just said it's a 'aircooled event', im coming in a watercooled 911 😥😥. More successful to do as both really.. all Porsches still but little disheartening

I have literally just bought mine, and it happened by pure accident. I was talking to a mate anout buying a 997.1 TT to modify for occasional track days, and he told me that a guy in our group had decided to sell his .2 996 gt3 after 12 years of ownership. 24hrs later, I drove the car home. Always always wanted a GT3, and im over the moon with it. The icing on the cake is only 30,000 miles.

The car looks sexy!

I was initially dissatisfied with mine, the gearing is too long and it should have revved to 7.5k. It’s too heavy as std and has reasonably soft suspension giving a GT feel rather than sports car. Also has a heavy dual mass flywheel. I think these are designed to be quite ‘feeble’ as std, for the mass market, not particularly much of a sports car as it’s quite sensible, has a daft long Final Drive and a huge gap in the 1st and 2nd gear ratios. I’ve had a lot of cars, some of which quite focussed and exotic and I was thinking what have I done buying this C4S, it’s heavy and the acceleration is not particularly exciting. With proper suspension, a lot of weight loss in certain areas of the car, and with a quickshift, smaller diameter steering wheel (makes it feel more nimble), and lighter flywheel I’m finally enjoying mine. I just wish Porsche wasn’t so obsessed in long gearing, if you compare a 1-2-3 acceleration of even a Ferrari 348 to a 996 C4S (manual) the Ferrari is so much more instant and responsive due to better gearing. I’m going to sell mine, while it’s fun it’s just not hit the mark for me. If you’re a cruiser and drive slowly you probably would like the car but for a serious petrolhead that likes revs, good acceleration from a tightly stacked close ratio gearbox, I’d advise to look elsewhere.

“The mechanicals will stay the same” - yes but all the suspension needs to be refreshed including all bushes (which for Porsches means replacing all arms), springs, dampers, strut tops. Makes a huge difference for a 20 year old car.
