Hao Style 96 Long Form Complete
มุมมอง 19K13 ปีที่แล้ว
Master Hao Shao Ru demonstrates the Hao Style 96 Long Form. The Hao style is derived from the original Yang style and the small frame (xiao jar) Chen style created by Chen Xing Ping. These two styles were assimilated and developed by Wu Yu Xiang who studied directly under both Yang Lu-Chan and Chen Xing Ping. Together with his nephew, Li Yi Yu, Wu Yu Xiang authored the "Taiji Classics". The Hao...

My book, "Dynamic Taiji Quan", which explains the martial aspects of the Hao style, is available for sale: sites.google.com/site/martialtaijiquan/products
Hao style 96 Long Form - Half Speed - Part 2
มุมมอง 59913 ปีที่แล้ว
I slowed down the Hao style 96 Long Form performed by Master Hao Shao Ru. This second part of the video was slowed down by 50% in order toget close to matching the correct speed (25-28 minutes) in which to practice the form. I hope that you enjoy these two new versions.

Hao Taiji Quan Applications
มุมมอง 2.1K14 ปีที่แล้ว
Hao Taiji Quan self-defense applications as demonstrated by Danilo and Enrique. The video was slowed down to half speed to emphasize the inherent power of the applications. None of these sequences were rehearsed; Enrique and I simply decided to show a few basic movements from the Hao 96 Long Form and demonstrate how they could be used as self-defense applications. Enjoy. My book, "Dynamic Taiji...
Hao style Taiji Quan & Baji Quan
มุมมอง 2.3K14 ปีที่แล้ว
Danilo and Matt demonstrate Hao style Taiji Quan & Baji Quan applications. The footage was taken by Matt's wife on phone camera in 2002 or 2003. It was a great to work with Matt for a little over a year. He introduced me to the amazing martial art of Baji Quan, which shares many of the same teachings and applications as the Hao style Taiji Quan. My book on the Hao style Dynamic Taiji Quan is av...

Hi there, have you published your book on Hao Taiji?
Thanks for your query. I’m editing the text right now and hope to have it completed soon.
Is Hao style just another name for the old Wu style or did Hao Weizhen made some changes.
The Hao family expanded the original Wu Yu Xiang Form (including additions and teachings by Chen Qin Pin and Li Yi Yu). It was not the intention of the Hao family to create a new style. Hao Shao Ru always called it the Wu (Yu Xiang) style in his writings.
I have both your books. These are some nice beginner exercises to really get the feel of the Tai Chi. Hao style has long held my interest for various reasons, but good job on matching up some videos that help very much to get the movements more correct from your book. I know there is no substitute for hands on instruction from an instructor.
It develops the skill of formlessness. I practice my sun with a rhythm like this
Awesome! Thank You very much!!!!!!
Hi! Where can you study Hao style in Europe /Sweden?
Hi Marcus, I know that there are teachers in England. You may want to reach out to Enrique Roitman or Dr. Robert Thoor for classes in Sweden. There are also practitioners in France.
Sun Lu Tang, master of xing-i and bagua, is said to have learned this form from Master Hao before creating his Sun Taiji form. Structurally, I can definitely see where it is derived. Thanks for sharing this old footage.
Thank you, Mark!
Excellent. I can't wait for the video and book to finish.
Hi Marjorie, I received your comment and responded to it below. I'm still hard at work on the Hao style instructional book with videos.
i left a comment and hope you are getting it. this is the first time i have communicated through a utube site, so i'm a real novice.
Hi Marjorie. Thanks for subscribing to my site. Where do you live? I may have some connections. I'm almost down with my in-depth instructional text and video of the entire 96 Hao Long Form.
anybody out there practicing this style
your issuing is not quite correctly done because if your opponent catches you on your back leg techically youve lost ie.captured your root, the front leg is empty but not absent...keep up the good work.
Very interesting. Who was the person that you studied with? Hao Shao Ru really didn't have many serious students since he was quite the taskmaster.
i studied with one of his students , the things he could do were amazing,
Sorry for getting back late, but I was referring to the push hands style. It probably goes under a different name in each style, anyway. Da - big, lu - lu jin (sideways diversion)?
I'm not sure. I don't think it is. According to my teacher, the student died not long after this video was filmed. looks like him, though.
Interesting, is this da lu?
i never tried generating chi, but im searching on the subject and if ill try im sure it will help. thx :p
Looks fun, but the stuff you did toward the end was anything but "free fighting"!
@haotaichichuan yeah, I fear for one trying to attack someone who knows both taiji quan and baji quan.... high defense kungfu styles. I've learned some Chen Style Taijiquan along with a few forms of Bajiquan.
One proverb reads, Taijiquan rules china, Bajiquan defends China. Definitely atleast "cousin" style martial arts. If not, Half sister kungfu styles
@eagleclaw1080 You're very welcome.
oh icic, thx for answering
Respond to this video...Baji Quan and Hao Taiji Quan are different completely different styles, but they both use many similar internal applications. The power that they emit is strikingly similar.
@eagleclaw1080 Hi! The Hao style is derived from the original Wu Yu Xiang style (and, later, by his nephew, Li Yi Yu) in the 1800's. The original Wu Yu Xiang style is a combination of Yang Luchan's original form and Chen Qing Ping's small frame (compact) Taiji Quan form. Much of the Taiji Quan Classics were authored by Wu Yu Xiang and Li Yi Yu who later passed the style on to Hao Wei Zhen. He became so adept at the style that it eventually became known as the Hao style.
was wondering what is hso style taichi? nvr heard about it, n the baji applications doesn't seems is hao's style, why is it?
@Mengcunman Hi, my sparring partner at that time, Matt, did Baji Quan. I'm not sure which Baji style he practiced. The Hao style Taiji Quan, which I practice, is another "small frame", internal martial art. The two styles are very highly compatible.
what style of Baji do you do ?
at first, hao gives his partner a chance to feel his root, but it is too empty to push. he does not fa jing too much, rather he neutralizes into a still point
Nice!
What am I missing here?
You're welcome. Hao is my idol.
