Last Lap Craziness! 18th-2nd! Spec Miata Sebring Race SARRC

Came to Sebring to get one last test in the car before the runoffs expecting the car to preform great after the last weekend in it, ended up being anything but that!! after not completing one session all test day nor qualifying and race 1 due to electrical abnormalities I was able to run race 2 thanks to my crew chief Jonathan and Cory. They put in a tremendous amount of time to get the car running and I am very thankful! Ended up being a pretty fun drive thru the field until the last lap where I was run into with wheel-to-wheel contact having the steering wheel ripped out of my hand, ended up with at least a bruised bone in my left hand and cost me track position.
Also was a blast meeting the guys at Full Send Sims and spent my first weekend coaching! Made many great memories with a bunch of friends at the track!

The 2023 June Sprints Race 2! Starting 16th, making my way to 2nd, then getting pushed off at 6 and dropping back to 8th. I went as far back as 11 then finished in 9th! After struggling all week with car troubles this was a big relief as well as another big boost of confidence heading into the runoffs coming off three top 10 finishes! Hope you enjoy!!

WOW this is amazing racing
Awesome racing. It looks like your setup was for handling rather than straight line speed, because you were shredding those corners. That explains why none of your tandem partners lasted beyond the first turn. They just couldn't brake as late as you and still make it thru the turn. Great strategy for starting way back. I guess it hurt you once you cleared half the field and couldn't overcome the straight-line speed of the top half. You would close on exit, then give it back in the straight. Great driving. Even with the handling you were hand mixing the batter all race.

Awesome video. I am curious 2 things: how many times did you and other cars make contact ? It’s hard to tell when that does or doesn’t occur. Second, what’s up with all the hand gestures? It looked like at one point you were telling someone to pass? Is it usual to gesture/communicate with the other drivers a ton?
