I can't stop thinking about him coming home from school and asking his dad where's the puppy, and his dad pointing to a hole in the ground and saying he killed it. Just one of many things that had to be a huge impact in his childhood. His father was an abusive fk and i think he deserves some blame for the damage done.

It's really pretty sad. A lot of serial killers are losers and failures, in part because of the trauma they've endured and never had the chance to get help for (or didn't care to seek), and Danny Rolling is no exception. If Danny did get the help he needed, he could have potentially made something of himself. Sure, he'd probably still struggle with homicidal ideation, and maybe he wouldn't be as big as, say, Johnny Cash, but he could have used his music as an outlet so he'd never have to kill anyone. Despite scoring below average on his IQ test, he seemed like a reasonably bright and talented man. As is, though, he was a waste of life and talent who crossed the line long before he butchered the Grissom family, and the greatest thing he ever contributed was giving Kevin Williamson the inspiration to write the first Scream movie.

This man could've found fame and fortune, but he chose to throw his life away along with 8 others.

I love how normal he looks. They got a guy who they thought was the killer because of the scars. It turns out it was not him but this guy, Danny Rolling. Shockingly, you would think he had a decent childhood just by looking at him... but later die you know.
