The assembly of UMD Loop's frame took place over the course of 10 days. The frame consists of 1/16" thick aluminum sheets, joined together along their edges by shear clips with aluminum rivets. The frame was designed by Kyle Kaplan, assisted by members of the Mechanical Systems team. This video was edited and produced by team member, Victor Meszaros.

Prometheus Achieves Levitation!

During our 2nd run at Competition Weekend (1/29/2017), Prometheus reached a top speed of approximately 25 mph, surpassing the speed needed to achieve levitation. By cross-referencing this video with predicted levitation data and on-board accelerometer data, we were able to confirm levitation! Watch as the wheels slide from side to side as the pod lifts off the ground.
