I specialize in videos about the California Delta, with many spotlighting Governor Jerry Brown's controversial Bay Delta Conservation Plan's twin tunnels. These huge 40' diameter tunnels would connect to the Sacramento River to divert water around the Delta instead of through it, lowering the Sacramento River by at least 3' when it pumps. The project says the "co-equal goals" would be to take 145,000 acres of Delta farmers' lands to produce more flooded areas for "habitat restoration". The beneficiaries would mostly be large corporate farmers south of the Delta in the Westlands and Kern Water Districts.

Stuart Walthall says Board elections would be “moot“ and vaguely cancels any possibility of a valid board election. Scroll to 1:14:00 for his comment.
…and his mention of County’s attorney’s advice regarding elections.
BOY has Windmill cove changed! From what I could see in this video. I was there with my ex and my kids WAY back in the 80's. It had just been begun as a resort and had potential but soon it became just a hodgepodge of people and mostly people that just wanted to party (drink etc.) so it lost it's family appeal. The people that owned it were greedy as usual and they made some bad decisions (as far as I'm concerned). I don't know who owns it now but I'm sure the previous are long dead by now. What a place. When they had opened up the back to RV's and travel trailers etc it was so nice and very quiet but soon it changed.. the water that came out of the faucets there was SO rusty and bad and people were just crowding in and building decks and putting in "hot tubs" etc. It got VERY crowded and then run down. 2009 is that last year I was there for a couple days and couldn't wait to leave. Sad. Just like SO many place and things on the SJ Delta.. well the only thing in life for certain is CHANGE and not usually for the better.
I'd love to hear some of his stories of "Lost Aisle." My mom and Grandma were there before then. I have a beautiful picture of them back in those days. I don't remember who they said owned it back then but they had some stories to share for sure. :) It was SO beautiful back then. SO many things have changed in the Delta but I still miss going out on it. I spent MANY many hours out there in my life time. My family loved going out there in our family made boat and also by car fishing at different spots off the levies like "Whisky Slough." Things changed for the worse but also just changed in general. I'm glad this man got to live on his own "house boat." When my mom and Grandma were there Hilton still owned it. There was a fire somewhere along in there, at any rate my mom and Grandma left. I wish this man would've been able to show pictures of it when he owned it and especially from after he bought it until the very early 70's. When I was a little girl my family and I went out on my dad's boat and cruised around and we saw lost aisle from the delta. I remember a building with blue windows and that stands out in my memory for some reason. From then on I always loved blue glass. SO many memories of the SJ Delta but years have gone by and some memories fade. My EX husband and I went out to see the fireworks show from the water on our boat on year (about 2002). We were trying to hook up with my sister and her husband but we got there late and there were SO many boats! Saw some of the fireworks but it was getting pretty scary there because many of the boats were letting off their own fireworks and we were afraid of catching on fire and would've had no way out it was THAT crowded. We ended up trying to get back to B & W resort where we kept our boat in storage when not in use. Problem was we had no real lights and ended up using a spot light to try and see our way back. That was a long ride back. lol Just one silly story of MANY in my memories. I miss it but things aren't the same anyway and I had to move out of CA a few years ago to be with my son. This video is basically GREAT history and I doubt even this man knew how important it was to try to preserve whatever he knew. I'm glad I found this.
Terry Black comment regarding Sacramento County’s input in Locke, California: 2018 "I'm finding the County to be a grossly disappointing player in this town, because they are not here to provide balance, guidance, help, refereeing, develop plans to bring in potential monies from the county to do necessary safety issues, like the sidewalks, and so on and so forth. They've left everything to the responsibility of the board and the inhabitants of this town, and yet, it was not set up that way. They were going to take an active role... and they've all systematically walked away from their duties. And yet it's left us with a smaller board that doesn't have the input of the County. And I think we just have to broaden the input. The County needs to be involved. They need to be here listening to these meetings and commentary..." - Terry Black in 2018 scroll to 28:00
Video from 2018. Now it’s 2024. Locke, California’s board of directors has been deteriorating at the same rate as its Star Theatre. Eventually both will have no standing.

At tail end of meeting. Quote: << Okay, I'm not going to address that, Gene, and it was not won by a citizen. The judge issued a judgement saying that the defendants had not made their case. So that's a completely different thing from establishing merits, so that's not what we're here to talk about, but I appreciate that.>>
The Court ruling favored the Defendant, not Plaintiff Locke Management.
Great job Gene.

I met Bill in 2017. I was fishing around his floating house and he came out introduced himself and said he used to own Lost Isle and ended up having to sell it so he just moved across the channel. Very nice guy and I could tell he was happy. He was living better than most of us. I went by his old place yesterday and nearly everything has been cleared out. Thanks for making this mini doc. RIP ol River Rat.
Thanks!
That's a he'll of a job ❤
I was born near you on batterman ranch were my grandfather lived and work...I'm homesick.
Also my aunt and uncle farmed near there, peaches.
Why can't we find crops to grow that don't use 5 gallons PER almond nut? Nature always suffers through humanities bad decisions.

Wait! What!? Did Stuart Walthall just declare himself ELECTED yet again?? It appears he did at 17:50 in this meeting. Also known as “acclimation” of his board seat. And he cancelled the entire CID board nomination and election process that is required by state laws for all California Common Interest Developments (CIDs) under Civil Code §5105

Thank you Ron. Like you, I recall the first time I saw a Besotes. I was probably 12 (around ‘81) and one pulled up to the dock at Chambers Landing in Tahoe. Something about those lines were so viscerally pleasing! A few years later, someone had one on a covered lift near our home outside of Seattle, on Lake Sammamish. Having owned a Chris Craft and a Lyman, it is also a goal of mine to acquire a Besotes as well. Help!
Thank you Gene Beley for filming and editing this meeting.
It is utterly amazing that the two directors representing Chinese organizations didn’t protest what SW was saying! The fact that they sat silent speaks volumes! If the ROFR policy and Notifications to the Chinese Descendants was important to them, they would have demanded that the notifications that another property in Locke is for sale! go out immediately! Then, SW suggested that the board doesn’t need to send out the notifications of this property that’s for sale because in his opinion, the board only has to be “re-active, not pro-active”. The other board members continued their silence when SW and EH suggested removing ROFR from the meeting agenda. Incredible!
SW’s brand spanking NEW sign with false history at 58:00 . No historic review process. No County sign permits. Our National Historic Landmark Status of Locke is threatened by yet another newly constructed pet sign project of self-elected Chairman, pushing false-historical claim.
ROFR Right of First Refusal discussion and Notification to Ascendants, Descendants List 1:10:00 through 1:16:00
I love watching your videos😍😍
Illegal meeting, no posted notice.Brown Act violation 3rd meeting in row no posting. At 1:10:30 Right of First Refusal - Walthall says board doesn’t have to do anything regarding new property listed for sale because board wasn’t notified [of owner’s intent to sell]. He decides to not put ROFR on the next agenda.
Is it a brothel? We have some where I live too. Price is reasonable.
This is a very important history of California that has been ignored for so long. I visited the Delta many times and worked in the flowerbeds of misery with a short hoe called 'west coast shorty.' This was detrimental to the mind and back. The Chinese suffered many hardships in the delta along with the Japanese Americans. If you saw John Wayne and Lauren Bacall in the movie Blood Alley, that was shot in the delta. You will find Mexicans living there and a very famous Mexican restaurant owned by a Mexican married to a Chinese girl. I always wanted to buy a small house in the delta but never got around to doing it.
Visit Al the wops steak house. the best for old school cuisine. ca delta.
