Love that you're doing these musical analyses on Genshin soundtracks! Can you do a rhythm analysis on the soundtrack "Where the Mists Enshroud"? I've been having a hard time counting the inconsistent irregular times in the first 40 seconds of the music before it changes into common time so I would love to see what you think about it!

I avoided watching this past the counting part because I hadn't been to the new areas yet and wanted to avoid music spoilers. Now that I've explored the area I came back to watch the rest of the video and what do you know, it's my favorite Night-Wind theme! This is awesome, thank you!

Holy cow this is gold. As an electronic engineer this kinda looks loke math but as of now it certainly isnt mathing. I don't have words to describe how much i love genshin music and Ive always wanted to learn about it and be able to play most of the songs on the piano. I have nearly zero music or piano skills but i also want to learn about the music that has impaced my life so freaking much. Im definitely going to try my best to learn how to play all this and the more than interesting theory behing this. Thank you for your work, you deserve more subs than this bro❤

so, Neapolitans without the 3rd? and leading note triads at the end of phrases? that's quite interesting to have a simple harmony to complement the complex melody or flute improv. Cool vid!

I am still a bit unclear on why we wouldn't just use the Roman Numerals for I, IV and V (and likewise i, iv and v) since everyone studying harmony will be clear with these symbols and the figured bass configurations. I mean you can already say I9 add 4, I guess it looks slightly unelegant? Also, I thought a harmonic interval on a 7th of its own without the chordal 3rd meant there is an ambiguity as to what the harmony is in a tertian setting. For instance, G-E-F is ambiguous without the context of what comes before or after it. It in no way spells out a dominant 7th just because there is the interval of a minor 7th between the G and F. If we chuck a minor 3rd above the G it suddenly takes on minor 7th quality. Let me know if there is something I am misunderstanding here. Also is this system maybe not a tad too vertically focused? What if some of these harmonies are merely in passing due to counterpoint and the use of non-chord tones? We can absolutely hear the counterpoint in the music of Genshin Impact - it is very horizontally focused. There's a video of Gavin Leeper doing an analysis on Inazuma that shows this horizontal aspect. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

My music theory studies were cut short after 6 months (long story...) even though I learned to play the flute for over 5 years and was introduced to cassical music as a toddler. I also really love Genshin and it's amazing music and was always curious, how it works, but because of my lack of education (and livivng in a country with a slightly different musical vocabulary - we use the German system, calling B natural H, etc.) I just couldn't break it down on my own. I saw your videos and really love what you do, but didn't always understand the letters and numbers (I figured out, that t means tonic, but I only have a vague understanding, what tonic actually means). TL;DR: Thanks a lot, now I understand your other videos even better!
