I have 5 late model bikes in the garage. One of them is just like this DL650. The others are faster and have more tech, but if I ended keeping just one it would be the VStrom. Truly a wonderful machine. 32,000 miles - it's ready for another 100K.

That model year was 330ml ride height, 2021 onwards was 300ml so it will be close to the latest bike height.

yeah meant to say £5050 but I repeat the price and its correct second time.
I saw it live for the first time a few days ago.. It's much bigger than I thought, it's a maxi scooter, full size. Too big for the city and too heavy at 180+kg

Mine's black and blue and I agree it's a beauty. Yellow looks wonderful and whoever owns this bike took the chrome "S" off of the side cowling. Much better. Sorry, just looked at a new one and they come that way now. Anyways, looks better.
I rather choose e-clutch to utilize all the power on different gears than DCT which will automatically shifts depending on rpm

I wonder whether one can start out in 2nd. I rarely do, but occasionally … I don’t see any down side to e-clutch. Can you explain the hard - medium - soft for up and down? I saw it on the screen but I’m only guessing.

@@newcastlemotorcycles Thanks for the reply. Since then I ordered one with Honda but they have pushed the date back on delivery. Do you have them available at your branch ? If so Ill phone tomorrow to order it.
Doesn't anybody find it odd Honda put money into R&D into developing the e clutch yet they still don't have adjustable suspension until you have to pay 20k for a fireblade.

Sadly no it's just for the new stuff.
Strikes me that for 100 quid it is daft not to, just in case it comes in handy. On the bigger picture good on Honda for this and their DCT. If it allows folks back on a bike when they would struggle for whatever reason...it's a good thing 👏

How does the bike feel riding in town without ever touching the clutch at like 15-20 km/h? I mean it's gonna jerk back and forth like a horse riding in 1st gear when you open and close the throttle a lot right?
why they didn't just make it auto clutch system? like at small bike such honda wave and honda ex 5. these bike still have gear shifter but there's no clutch.

Do you know if the E-Clutch will be fitted to other bikes, such as the CBR500R?
I guess so in the future. It only adds a few kilos to the bike not like DCT which adds 10 kilos. Plus its just a clutch casing with the E-clutch motors on unlike DCT which is totally different crank cases.
Great job Honda, i haven't experienced it yet but it sounds brilliant. Hopefully soon the E Clutch will be on all it's range of motorbikes.

First video I've seen that shows the menu screen. Didn't realize that you could fully turn it off too. Very cool feature, love that the manual clutch overrides everything.

Curious that they didn't just go for a full auto/manual DCT since they've perfected that already. Maybe this still has the 'sporty' feel if you want it. Gotta love Honda, still pushing the boundaries !
Because most people were complaining that dct is not smooth enough for tight maneuvers
@@clevernduruza8624 yes, that makes sense, there IS a delay when shifting the Honda motorcycle DCT.
DCT is very heavy, and very complicated
making it a DCT machine will make it a lot heavier unlike this e-clutch system only adds 3kgs.
The only way it is close to the DCT is you can pull away without a clutch, it's a fantastic piece of kit, Just like the DCT at the moment people are trying to find faults THERE IS NONE, you can ride it as full Clutch or like the c70 put it in gear and ride change when you want to👍
I love this idea! Its an accessibility feature for thise with arthritis/hand problems. Its less intimidating for beginners/those who dont know how to ride with a clutch. Its helpful in stop and go traffic. But its still there when you want to shift yourself like if you are feeling sporty in the canyons. The e clutch will be to the trans what fuel injection is to fueling sure some wont like it but to everyone else its worlds more convenient
