A Taste of Havana

Just a sample of the many layers of Havana and Cuba. Music by Orishas featuring Heather Headley singing Represent Cuba is awesome. Footage from my recent tour with Insight Cuba.

Baracoa is Cuba's easternmost and oldest city. Popular among tourist for its unique indigenous infused local culture, foods, natural rainforest surroundings and chocolate.
Good work
More!!!!!
Just finished a Shoemaker side chair with this crest rail, now working on an arm chair with slightly more complex foliage. Very interesting to see how these two approached backgrounding, depth, veining, and movement. After you get started the design kinda tells you where to go, so no two carvings are exactly alike. No scrapers or sandpaper involved!
Simply ... WOW !!!
El che es un asesinó y Fidel Castro es un hijo de puta... Le robaron la democracia al pueblo cubano...
Me encanta el son cubano, música de libertad y lucha tenaz....
I love to carve ornamental subjects 😊

Five stars. Perfect blend of narration and music. Fine video with good lighting and great carving..
Que triste la vida en cuba, basta ver las caras de las personas maltratados por pasar trabajo 😔
That is _beautiful_ !
Looks almost like an Acanthus leaf from Richard Glazier's Book Of Ornament...
But, how did you carve out the underside when the piece was so thin??? JIM
I started to try my hand a couple of years ago at carving and now no what a mountain it is to climb. In my very modest efforts if I make a mistake I can modify the shape ,these guy cant afford or accommodate any slips.Respect to all who can reach this jaw dropping level. There is so much knowledge and skill being used, fascinating to watch. Thanks
تحياتي لك من تطوان المغرب

Siempre el Comunismo con su poder de destrucion y miseria ...lo triste es que se le apalude ....por supuesto de lejos.

It is really a therapeutic video, it makes me peaceful by just watching it.
nice piano...really sets the tone of ZEN in this hobby ,,, I can hardly believe the effort and skill required to be a furniture carver.

ESTA ERA CUBA ANTES DE LA REVOLUCION oye gue tu estas hablando, Esa es cuba la de ahora informate mas.
Simply beautiful!
What do you use to hold the working piece to the wood underneath to keep it from moving?
I've seen people use double-sided tape. I did a similar project once with gluing multiple layers of newspaper to the baseboard and then the piece to the newspaper. it will hold it, and when done, you can easily wedge under the piece and the layers of newspaper will separate.
Whats the name of that song? Come to Yama musica?
Really beautiful work! I'd say you are a master carver! Thank you.

Nice question.
