Chelan County is covered in places with Ailanthus Altissima, especially Lake Chelan State Park along the waterfront campsites used by boaters. If the State and Chelan County were serious about preventing an invasion of the lanternfly and destruction ao agriculture in Chelan County, someon should have poisoned the trees by injecting them with imazapyr cartridges. The tree of Heaven must be completely dead before it is cut and removed. Given the fact that killing the existing trees will take years, why are state and county admin people doing nothing? Fullsize Tree of Heaven have been in Chelan county for many years, but nothing has been done other than uneducated people cutting them down, thinking that would help.Wrong. Well, when you have the governor carrying maggot infested apples from a private orchard in West Washington, into Chelan County and handing them out as gifts, inviolation of state law, with no penalty, then its not hard to understand why no one is eradicating Tree of Heaven from Chelan county before the lantern fly devastates Chelan County crops. And how usable will the state park be when covered with swarms of lantern flies and their "honeydew" excrement?

I would not have expected an African species to survive in that climate, but I suppose that the right habitat and considering the mild winters it makes sense. I would imagine the Olympic mudminnow and other small fish that live in slower moving waters are at the highest risk. Salmon tend to live in faster moving waters that I dont imagine are the optimal habitat for these frogs but I understand leading with salmon since its harder to get people to care about species that are not considered commercially important.

Okay you have emissions testing. That's great for the air. Next you are going to have to do something about leaking oil and transmission fluid. Way too much runoff going in streams. Example. Des Moines creek south end of SeaTac Airport. As a kid in the 60's creek was full of fish. Now ? Dead zone. Another. After a dry spell in the Kent Auburn Valley area to South Center Mall, when it rains, an oil slick down the Green river happens in the fall when Chinook enter the river. What ever happened to Cranberry Creek ? Any fish showing up ? Nisqually ? Stop Asian snagging which is rampant on that river.

That rando near Marysville still has me concerned. If there were that many dispersed sightings in 2019, they've had more than 3 years to spread.

Any species that believes in a woman's right to choose, anthropogenic climate change, and doesn't propagate grandiose election conspiracy theories would properly fill several critical evolutionary niches related to the "pro-science vote."

This is weak sauce. Washington State has no worries with invasive species, the urine on the ground and in the air will kill anything. The only invasive species to worry about is the Democrat.

Too bad Hilary Franz of DNR is a complete failure. Her major highlight is that she has increased Atlantic Salmon populations and killed firefighters.

Great question. Every state or province has different rules. Are you located in Washington? We would be happy to connect you with the appropriate fish and wildlife authorities if you send us an email at InvasiveSpecies@rco.wa.gov. Thanks!
