What a happy little video! I really enjoy the pureness of it. About the leveling, I get chu, but also bear in mind (if you don't already do) that hitting 80 is like "congrats! now you have all the tools needed to actually start playing the game! Good luck and enjoy!" xD There an insane ton of other levelings to do once you run out of traditional "levels" to get. It's wild. And about changing race, yeah, I kinda wish it was posible, but I agree, too much things to consider and account for, but who knows, maybe, maybe. All in all, good video, and welcome to Tyria!

Seems there's still nothing to show for any of the support this project initially received. And without Brad, there's little behind Joppa's 'vision' that might galvanize the community behind an MMO like this. It is magical thinking to take this off the 'probably vaporware' list. Joppa doesn't really seem to have any connection to the actual development either if his embarassing live streams have anything to say about it. And the game itself is suffering the 1080p effect. You know how all the videos look 480p even though it says 1080p HD you got big square pixels look like smart watch resolution blacks? But you know for a fact it didn't used to look that terrible? Same thing going on here. So many red flags it feels like Kung Fu Opera.

pantheon: fall of a company

Really loving the classic feel of Pantheon - feeling like youre exploring a dangerous world with friends. And just looking into the distance of the world and knowing I can go EVERYWHERE. to the top of the mountains and every hidden cave and dungeon.

The game at the moment is absolutely no where near as good as it was in its prime. It was the first MMO where i seriously got into raiding. Sadly slow content release and poor financial decisions resulted in the game being sold to the most morally bankrupt gaming company "gamigo" who subsequently monetized every.single.thing . Its barely on life support/maintenance at this stage

Welcome! This game is fascinating but can be frustrating as it does not hold your hand, in fact the opposite. I love it but one of the things I wish the game explained to was resistance. The devs have said in interviews that the game is balanced around having max 75% resistances from Act 3 or 4 onwards, yet no where in the game is this mentioned. You get resistance as a mod on gear, and you craft it onto great yourself once you unlock the crafting bench in ACT 2 (Helena's quest)

I started playing PoE about 4 days ago, I'm lvl 48 Marauder (now Berserker) currently. Honestly, I enjoy it.. as I grew up playing Diablo I & II way back and wanted to dive back into an ARPG but didn't want to pay money for Diablo IV after all the reviews and stuff. This can be challenging with the skill tree and such, but I'm not following a build guide or anything and sort of learning as I go and either I'm lucky or just did the right thing but my character is a slayer for sure. I def recommend it for folks looking for an ARPG that is quality without the ridiculous price tag!

Gold tip, on leveling gear, prioritize health, capped elemental resistances (75%), movespeed on boots then the rest. Have fun, my dude

i invited and helped numerous people to this game.. sadly 80% gave up around act 4-5 missing the all the fun endgame mapping/bossing is.. And needs to have friends.. playing solo is boring..

Good base overview. I wish you luck with getting deeper into the game. quick thing, usually you want to play on the current league (in this case Necropolis) this is the new content that has been added and there is a new one every 3 months most of the people are playing on there. Also the player numbers are MUCH higher for 2 -3 weeks after a new league starts (100k+). Most people play a ton during the start and then finish everything and then wait for the next league. (also you can actually change your choice with the bandits later, as if you kill all 3 you get Passive Points) There is ALOT of content in this game all for free and can get really complicated. I highly recommend looking up a loot filter for the game (helps with item clutter) I wish you luck with making a build for getting through the campaign 👍

I was a heavy doubter in this game (and im still confused on how they spent 10 years backtracking) but playing this has me sold. I played 10 hours everyday for the free weekend. The graphics, to me, had some breathtaking moments. I got lost in it and cant wait to play again . Its kind of cruel that its in alpha and its all i want to play atm. Maybe next decade 😢

More people should try it before judging it, Pantheon is a really good example in the saying, its way more fun to play then watch - Thanks for a good video.

The animations are horrible. You get hit, no flinch, swings look like a 2 year old swatting at a butterfly for the first time. 2004-ish graphics make this game very dull. They took too long and made too many bad decisions. The window has been missed. Go back to 2001 DAOC. Even they had an evade animation. Their combat animations are fairly close to Pantheon’s animations except this is 2024…

How does combat "feel" though?

9:33 'I find it very fast to level up. this is especially sad to see in a game with such a great leveling experience.' don't be sad. the leveling phase to lv80 is meant to be your extended tutorial. you are encouraged to learn the mechanics of your class and the game in general (movement etc). once you are lv80 and learned your skills, traits and movements, buffs and debuffs (bring down the CC bar on enemies etc), maybe have an understanding of the other classes in game and how they can work together, then the game really starts. it's all a long learning curve and leveling up is just the start. every new player should savor it and use it to get a bit familiar with the game. for vets, leveling up shouldn't be annoying and take a lot of time.

a fantastic game in its prime. Things like the soul trees, buildcrafting and the lore are the best I've seen in any MMO. The problem with RIFT was the awfully managed studio that created it and, now, the unscrupulous "thing" that owns and runs it, which I most certainly shall not name. The fact the game still has a player base worth keeping it up, 6 years after it was officially put in a coma, tells you what a truly great game it is, or was.

I play since 2012, but never imagined that a charr guardian would look so good!

while you do level up to level 80 very quickly, that's only the start of your leveling journey! once you reach level 80, you unlock masteries, which are a metroidvania style of horizontal progression, giving you various unlocks like gliding and auto-loot. you train these masteries by getting exp, just like you would when getting a regular level. and there's over 500 mastery levels in the game, so there is still a ton of leveling for you to do!

My favorite zones are the heart maguma jungle. Make sure you do heart of thorns before getting the path of fire mounts except raptor as they kinda ruin the progression feel of it. But then when you get your flying mounts they do make the jungle much easier to navigate and flying a griffon in verdant brink is second to none in fun

Man, the early levels really does sound like a completely different game, but I remember those days fondly. GW2 has a very simple and new player friendly starting experience. ❤ Welcome to Tyria, folks~ hope you enjoy your stay!

Having someone else to play GW2 with and learn with along the way, makes playing so much more fun. This is true of almost all games, but is specially true for MMORPG games, where you can actually assist each other, and play in a cooperative way. The great thing about GW2 is that you can even do the private story instances, with a friend, or up to a total group of 5 players, and if you are all at the same point in the story, you can all take credit for that story chapter at the same time. I don't know if there are any other games that do this.

They are actively shutting down parts of the game. I would be very very weary of investing too much time or any money whatsoever on this game, as Gamigo has made the future of this game very clear: Development time will be spent of putting on sales on the cash shop, and figuring out ways to shut down parts of the game to have satisfactory earnings calls.

Rift is one of those games that I periodically go back to, but it's very much because I have those memories and the nostalgia from having been there at the start. It had a lot that was great at the time and that still holds up today, but it's been functionally in maintenance mode for years after a downhill slide, which is really a shame. I'd personally score it a tad higher... but not if you're a day-1 new player now. There's just too much that's either gone downhill or stagnated to recommend somebody start it as a new MMO at this point. And don't give Gamigo (the current publisher) any money, for sure.

I played the heck out of this in 2011, and check it out from time to time. I agree with many of the thoughts expressed here; far too many things locked behind the paywall, graphics haven't changed. Also agree with your score assessments.

incredible game :))

People talk about P2W, but really the issues with this game are dailies driven gear (Hiram), runaway power progression, and the oversaturation of scheduled events and instances in what's supposed to be an open world sandbox. It's still absolutely worth giving a try if you have never played it though IMO.
