Trudy Harvey is an evil old bitch who encouraged me, a schoolgirl at the time, to keep writing letters to her husband Alex Harvey. The letters represented NINE YEARS of work on my part, and they had a cottage industry thing going where the letters were published like a comic, because there were illustrations, cartoons in them. Some of them I wrote with my best school pal Linda Baldwin, and some of them I wrote by myself. These letters were the ONLY thing Alex and Trudy Harvey made money out of, because they were ripped off by the management and record company called Mountain Management. SAHB made no money at all from the records. But a LOT of money was made by these letters, which were really laugh out loud funny. Alex Harvey was ashamed, in the end, of what he and Trudy had done, to a couple of schoolgirls who trusted them. So the death of Alex Harvey was more like a suicide than a heart attack. He knew that if he carried on working and touring, he would die, but this is what he decided to do. Trudy did not give a damn, however, and some years later, when I wrote to her and said I was living with a lovely man and we had a beautiful son, my little boy, who was only seven at the time, mysteriously began to be bullied. I therefore home educated him for a long time, but when he went to our local further education college, he was bullied again, and even at University he was targeted by a nasty sadist who had the next room at the halls of residence. When I tried to join the SAHB fan forum run by Catherine Glen, she immediately tried to gaslight me by saying "there were no funny letters. I think somebody has not taken their medication today". I am sorry to taint the memory of Alex Harvey with this scandal. I loved him too. He was like a father to me, at a time when I needed somebody like that in my life. I loved spending time with him and I don't regret any of it. Trudy hated me because I was the special one he would not fuck. When he died I tried to kill myself by riding my motorbike drunk, and hanging out with really dangerous men which, ironically, made me the victim of a gang rape. Trudy always thought the funniest letters were the ones where after a gig I would be stuck at some house in Bristol and had to choose between a lesbian and a straight man to spend the night with. I had to submit to being raped just to have a place to stay for one night because Alex would not let me stay with him. Trudy wrote to be and said this was THE MOST HILARIOUS letter. My name is Anne Marie Brian and every word of this is true, and I have proof in the form of long letters from Trudy Harvey which kept encouraging me to keep writing, even when I was fed up, and exhausted. NINE YEARS of work. She has been trying to silence me ever since. But I will not be silenced. And if necessary I will take her to court and sue her. Because I have written evidence, HER letters to me. She is an evil bitch and SHE has tarnished the legacy of SAHB, not me.

Holy Jesus... I can’t stop listening to this song..masterpiece,if this doesn’t move you..then it’s like my father used to say..”drive on undertaker”, better than most music back then..that even means you Lennon/ McCartney. What a magnificent band ! You are so fortunate Scotland, you gave us the real giants of music and I give honourable mention to “Foster MacKenzie the 3rd”...RootBoySlim. So Scotland,a salute to your fabulous talent.

Im 71 now but in 1972 i was selling hashish in London and fell in with a group of people through 2 call girls we (my partner and i) met in a pub one night. We sold then a few times but got a call when they had organised an impromptu party for a guy called Graham Bond who had been a bit of an innovator in the R&B and Jazz scene, and had people like John McLaughlin, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker in one of his bands. I thought Graham was a bit occultish given his weird dress style with the pins and badges he wore on his clothes. He reminded me of Dr John, however, and he was interesting to listen to. A few years later he fell or jumped in front of a train in the underground. He bought some hash from me which he praised for its quality. He did look troubled to me when i met him After Graham had gotten stoned, he lifted a coiled whip hanging on the wall beside the fireplace grabbed one of the girls by the hand and disappeared into one of the bedrooms. I then was introduced to a tall thin guy with long straight blond hair. His name was Simon. We talked a bit while i rolled a joint and he asked me what bands i liked. It was then that i reslised he had been the drummer in Free and now in Bad Company. He was interested in Northern Ireland and i filled his ears. He also commented on the quality of the smoke. We went on to supply to Phil Lynott, Lemmy from Hawkwind, Nicky Hopkins and there was a guy called Paul who told me he was in the band Jucy Lucy and although he played the keyboard he claimed to be possessed by Hendrix's spirit. I met him at the Greyhound in Hammersmith and im sure i sold to other famous musicians from that venue. It was a crazy scene for me as i was just a wee lad from Northern Ireland but mixing with top musicians and not forgetting the women who got free smoke from me. Lol. Those were the days.

My first games at Goodison was in the days of John Carey who assembled Roy Vernon, and Alex Young to complete the trio with Bobby Collins to make the Blues a threat again in the first division after some lean years in the 1950s When the board brought in Harry in April 1961 it was surprise to many fans However Harry added Tony Kay during the 62-63 season that saw the Blues crowned league Champions. They came close to retaining it in 1963-64 His era saw some great times at Everton. At the end of the decade 1969-70 his rebuilt team won the league championship again. In January 1969 the Chairman of the FA and Wolves, John Ireland paid Harry and that team the accolade of being the best team he had seen in the post war period, after Everton had beaten a very good Wolves team 4-0 in the league game at Goodison in January 1969, when his team reached its peak. Sadly two key defeats in three days in April 1971 destroyed that team, and left Harry a mountain to climb to rebuild the team. Only Matt Busby, and Bill Shankly had a record as good as Harry in the 1960s, yet is rarely mentioned by football historians.

To me, this band is the true meaning of punk. Not the punk bands (which i love). And "....Compliments..." is at the top of the list of all of the protest songs. What a crazy awareness came upon me in the '70s, growing up as a young teenager in the States. Luckily, I had the TV on one night and saw SAHB playing. ...Could have missed it.
