Landing Runway 30 - Dulles Airport in a Cessna 172
April 12, 2020: Landing on runway 30 via the Runway 1R approach/circle. While the touchdown was a bit solid, this is an approach I have wanted to do since I was a kid. Thanks to the controllers at Dulles Tower and Potomac Approach who helped make this morning possible.

Stunning catches and engine sounds
i was suppose to go on an a380 but it got canceled so i cryed because it was my first tome to go on but got canceled :(
Sick man sick...
What cam is this?
I miss that place!
All motor?
beast
What type of wheels are these and what are the wheels and tire specs??
What camshaft is this car running?
Yea sweet. A waste of time with no graph. Where’s the dyno graph and numbers.
How do you think it put down 700hp when the Dyno is right there????
This is our airport
Wheels are CCW Classics looks like.
what wheels and tires are on this? it looks badass
Do they still have an air France 380 at Dulles? I think they switched it to a 777.
Fantastic video!
Maybe its to bleed of elevation without gaining speed on one side or the other. You know, in case the passenger is in a hurry to get down, but the pilot's not...
A* Spotting !!
What cam did he use
Sure wish they would allow DC Spotters Group to go there for a photo op!
What year is this one, Boss?
Looks like your shooting from Landmark?
It's got to be Signature.
Good gravy man, that puppy hits hard!!
was the procharger a cheaper route then the turbo setup?
No way the pro charger is less
I can tell you from personal experience the procharger is way more
What wheels are those? They look awesome
Nice video. Where did you record this from?
live sex
Nice video
hey man, what the most power you can get out of the 6.0s NA?
+Cl ro ok cool man, i really wanna shoot for as much horsepower at the wheels NA when i build one, everyone does some type of induction, itd be neat to see one fast af without any
Cl ro lol that sounds pretty damn good man, those things are beasts :) of course you know that but it will make a killer swap for any car
Probably up to 2000hp it can vary. you can get any engine up to 1000+ N/A just depends on your build and tune
Old post, but this is kinda a cool online calculator to help you out. Probably pretty close to being accurate. www.bgsoflex.com/roughhp.html If you want to run pump gas, you are probably limited to about 12.5:1 compression ratio. If you want to purpose build for e85, maybe you could get up to 14:1. Can you push your horsepower peak up to 6800 with the stock stroke and still fill the cylinders? Maybe. But you would not have much power down low with the cam it would take to keep those cylinders filled at high RPM. 580 HP maybe.

+jamesdingell what is that slight rattle right after he punches it?
sounds like somethings loose in the muffler
Could you take out the music? It ruins the natural sounds of the video.
I am behind times .. 10 yrs later I got my procharger installed .. put it on a 06 lq9 with a 04 zo6 cam and got about 320hp and 380tq .. the dyno pretty much stopped at 5k rpms .. I guess this is a question, did my stock 2 1/4 pipe really hurt me that bad?
TheOklahomabourne did hollow out the cats lol .. I have a 2 1/2 inch pipe from my 98 camaro if I can make it fit .. im thinking it might give me another 50hp but I probably need a 2 3/4
+TheOklahomabourne is this a truck your talking about? I would say you should have put down at least 380 to the tire, even with the stock exhaust. You should check for belt slip, or maybe the dyno is just very VERY VERY stingy
02 camaro .. yeah I still feel ripped off . my brothers car hit 700hp and 750tq with 317 heads .. I'm sure his had work, but they said I need 243 heads.. car runs good and smooth but it did run a 13.7 when my stock 98 runs a 13.5 all day
What seriously....something isn't right then look into belt slip, or maybe your converter is all wrong. Are you still having issues?
I just didn't really get power from adding a procharger and injectors plus a "safe tune" than I started with. I get about 10 psi but maybe 5 after I hook it back to the intake. seems like I wouldn't lose so much psi if the heads were not flowing. Cars runs good I don't feel extra power under boost
what engine mounts did you use in the LQ4 install? What wiring and computer, thx D
What wheels are on this?
Ok, yes 346 not 347...
Thought you were driving all the way to Jim's! LOL! Great landing, James.
that thing is n-n-nasty!
Not a failure. As mentioned below, these are spring loaded flaps that are moved by a manual lever. Makes for an easy preflight being able to move them by hand, but definitely hell in winds. Max demonstrated winds for the 162 is 22 knots so I really don't think this should have even been outside. Perhaps they should put the flap blocks in to keep them from banging around.
jessemeanlt1 Lq4 engine with overhead cams ?!?!?!?!?! Wtf? All ls engines are OHV...
92 Vette had an OHCs but that was an LT5, but that engine ended up putting GM into making the LS engine, and now... we are back to LT engine name again lol
Yea i know about the lt5 lol but this is ls we are talking about. Also they made the northstar 32v
Yea I had been given 1R but had to change to Center due to a runway last minute closure.
bit of a weird approach... is that because you're slower than the big boys?
Nice landing, nice vid.
That's a lot of taxiing :)
Just forward of the strut mount - suction mount (not perm)
What do you use to mount?
jessemenlt1, im going to ignore the first part of your comment... But as far as your question, I am using the stock pcm.
It's IFR all the way so I wish I could've saw the G1000 for a bit :D
maybe he meant overhead valve...
Lq4 isn't an ohc motor....
Looks sounds and runs tit!
