Not trying to promote anything or even 'showcase' my stuff - just a place to upload my video experiments. If others enjoy them, all well and good, but I make no claims regarding my (lack of) expertise in this area! I've got a GoPro (an old-ish model), a phone, a gimbal and the gear to attach these things to a tripod... but I don't particularly know how to work any of those things, other than to "press go" (o:

Dave Myers’s Run June 8th 2024 - North of Oxford
The Dave Myers celebration motorcycle run: Ace Cafe to Barrow. An estimated 45,000 bikers at Barrow. This is an early stage, passing on the M40 north of Oxford at 09:45.
Glorious.
This is the first 5 (unedited) minutes or so. The convoy, in scattered groups, took fully 15 minutes to pass through. Respect.

Beside the seaside, beside the sea…

Two and a half minutes of waves whooshing and swooshing the shingle on a beach in Dorset. With added wind noise, sorry. Some idiot forgot to throw the external microphone into the bag.
Avebury too
มุมมอง 18ปีที่แล้ว
A time-lapse at Avebury: standing in the South East sector of the main circle, looking out at the banks. One of the two massive 'Portal Stones' in the foreground. People seem oddly fascinated by cameras on tripods and it's not unusual to have someone wander up and stand right in front of the rig... "are you filming something?" (me: Yes) "what are you filming then?" (me: right now? you). "oh, sh...
Moto Guzzi 850-T3 California - timelapse... 10 miles
มุมมอง 1022 ปีที่แล้ว
I have no idea what I'm doing, so this is just a straight GoPro timelapse - if I work out how, I'll try and improve it in post-edit and replace, otherwise... GoPro chest harness (wonky horizon = chest harness tangle!) - 1s interval - 4 miles of stationery traffic (filtering is legal where I ride).
Time lapse - Avebury - Marlborough Downs

iPhone timelapse of the Marlborough Downs from the banks of Avebury Stone Circle, Wiltshire - just a few minutes of a lazy sunny afternoon...
Two Minutes in Wytham Woods, Oxfordshire

It's all about the audio. Headphones recommended, if you have them. The 'hum' (if you're wondering) is from a busy road, nearby and... traffic. Perhaps when the leaf canopy fills, this noise might become less prominent. iPhone and Zoom H2N. www.wytham.ox.ac.uk #woodland #wytham_woods #birdsong #found_sounds

Moto Guzzi California 850T3 - cold and grey, and not riding weather. But you still need to go out and play, right? Let's pretend we're "warming the engine". First attempt, for me, at sequencing and editing a 'story' - even though I was limited in (alternate) viewpoints, I learned a load, and am so much more appreciative of the effort (and apparent ease) with which others make their content. Eve...
Time lapse - Balloon launch - G-BRAP
มุมมอง 805 ปีที่แล้ว
Maiden flight of hot air balloon G-BRAP on August 5th, 2018 - in the company of two other balloons: G-HOPR (cloudhopper, furthest from camera) and G-BUYC (Windrush balloon, middle of the line-up).
Moto Guzzi 850T - fired up for the first time in 16 years!
มุมมอง 45212 ปีที่แล้ว
Moto Guzzi 850T fired up after standing for far too long. Now I know that she runs without any major coughs, bangs or rattles, I can push ahead with the other jobs.
loved the sidecar!
Yay! Motorcycles!
I love the pebbley sound!
Nice, huh? Shame I forgot the external mic. That has wind baffle on it. The phone mic is good, but bad in that it picks up unwanted sound, and doesn’t handle wind noise well. Next time…

Nice ! 👍💪🏻
Ooh I love this.
Thank you. It's such a long way to go, but when I do, Avebury always seems to produce some lovely timelapse material ... and it's such an easy, and lazy production: pop the phone on a tripod, press Go, and settle down with a sandwich and a beer (o: Clouds are essential, I've learned.
Nice 👍
I have never been in a hot air balloon! Outside your zooooone
Get in
Beautiful forest, you could have walked along the path.
Thank you - I did walk the path, but I just didn't film it. These few minute were really about the birdsong. (o:
HI5 buddy, Good video buddy.
Thanks for the feedback.
Exciting, I always thought of flying a balloon.
You should check it out! There really is nothing quite like it. You do need a license to fly one, and some training - and access to the equipment, of course - a good way to get involved is to find someone locally who flies, and to offer your services as 'chase crew' - and perhaps join the 'ballooning association' for your country - good luck!
Is that a Yorkshire rose ?
Ha! good spot! - they were that year, yes: White Roses for York, since I had a reason to do so. The (artificial) roses get grubby throughout the year and do require refreshing - the current ones are Red (but not necessarily for Lancaster, more a case of that's what the florist had).
nice footage, although there was some wind noise i enjoyed listening to the engine. i like the inscription on the tank which in English says '' so sweet doing nothing'' lol .. least that's what i see, i might be wrong.
Thanks! and, good eye - the tank does, indeed, carry a 'dolce far niente' hashtag (o: as for the wind noise, this was just a a straight-forward first test shot with a GoPro and chest harness. I was a little surprised that it wasn't a lot worse with the on-camera microphone, but the big windscreen probably helps! I'll try again sometime when I can bring myself to pay for the (absurdly expensive) 'microphone adapter' and plug in an external microphone!
