Catty Island Day Camp SHELTER BUILD Pt. I
Spent around four hours up on Catty Island roundabout for a day camp and a bit of a shelter build.
Nobody goes up there at all, so this is an ideal spot for a permanent camp.
Building a shelter is hard work. It's not just throwing down a few lengths of timber and up it goes. You need relatively straight sections, then uprights to secure them together so they don't roll off each other.
You may even need a mud/leaf/twig mix to bung up any gaps you have. It isn't a five minute build.

Urban Wild Camp On A South East London Manor

An urban wild camp was the plan for this trip out to a lake in south east London. What a manor it is too. You could be anywhere once we were set up. I enjoyed my time there within the enclosed area and in the town. Everyone was friendly. Thank you for taking a look at another Bourne Outside video. Don't forget to LIKE & SUBSCRIBE too! Solo WILDCAMP On The TALLEST UK ROUNDABOUT
มุมมอง 8Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Returning to an old favourite spot here where I had a solo wildcamp on the tallest UK roundabout (probably) 😉 This a much loved place for me a nobody ever goes there and it is nearly always a battle trying to reach anywhere near it. Once near, you have to be as fast and as stealthy as you can to reach the final hurdle. Come and join me on rainy and fair weather trip out. Thank you for taking a ...

What a blast in the woodland on this weekend with the folks from Operation Jackdaw over in Canterbury. This last camp had @greencraft4783 doing some instructional pieces which was interesting. Camping In HEAVY OVERNIGHT RAIN
มุมมอง 8703 หลายเดือนก่อน
I wanted it to rain so badly for this wild camp with my old mate and I got it too. We had a late night and just before we decided to call it a night, the heavens opened up and we had heavy overnight rain which didn't stop until we were nearly out of the woods some 8-9 hours later. I was out with @BurtonOutdoors I doubt that you haven't seen his channel but, if you haven't, go and see it and sub...

FIREMAPLE GINGKO GLOVES - My First Thoughts
มุมมอง 1574 หลายเดือนก่อน
I purchased these Firemaple Ginko (100 percent cowhide) leather gloves from Outdoor Gear Essentials as I wanted a second pair of work gloves for my day pack, and here are my first thoughts on the gloves. They are quite a good glove for around the woods and for camp chores when working with your hands and need some protection. I have since used them for working around the campfire and have not f...

Cracking spot Tim, you're shelter will be a great go-to for a bit of quality time. Scran looked top-notch as always buddy.
I will be happy if it is only half as good as yours, Garry. I can always upgrade it can’t I 😁 A nice bit of dirty food again. I love it. If I don’t talk to you between now and Christmas, I wish you all a very merry Christmas 🎄 Thanks for the chats this year on mine and your channel. 👋🏼😉👍🏼
Hi I am new to your channel and have watched a few of your videos and think you live in the same area, just wondering if you join you and you can show me some of your skills, I am a quick learner and think you would be a great person to learn from Hugs sam x
Hello Sam, thanks for reaching out and for your kind words. I don’t tend to camp with people I don’t know, for obvious reasons. If you’re about in the new year, you could join us at Operation Jackdaw (see my videos on them), and meet a few of us in safe surroundings in Canterbury. There is always someone there doing some teaching of some sort. We could meet then and go from there as to whether we camp out at some point. Hope that helps in some way 👋🏼😉👍🏼
Great start to ya roundabout homestead Tim and that scran i think you cooked up on another vid before, looks Deeeeelish,Respects as always bud..
Hello Garth, thank you for that. Hopefully it will all come together and make for an enjoyable stay. I chucked some mushrooms in on one meal and that was lovely. Looks a bit rough but tastes good. Have a good Sunday me ol chum 👋🏼😉👍🏼
No Excuses Now 😂✊🏼
Haha, that’s for sure 😁👍🏼 It’s a really good quality poncho for the money. A great pattern too.
#gonnabuildawall Nice work Timmy, it'll be cozy once your done 👌
Morning Dan, hopefully it will turn out well 😉👍🏼 #ifihadahammer 😁
Awesome set-up tim Keep up the good work. ATB Sam 👍
It’ll take a while to complete Sam, but I’ll get there. Thanks for watching kind sir!
Great job x
Not bad for one tiny wall, eh? 🤣
nice 1 MrB, looks a good project and will be a cracking shelter when done 👍 the key is plenty of lube, for the chain that is.... 😂
Hello Mr. P, I never bring enough lube to the parties 😊 Yes, hoping it will be a grand shelter when done. Should be complete by Summer 2028 😁👍🏼
Well done Tim, that timber looks like Sweet Chestnut, if so you couldn't really ask for better shelter building materials. Looking forward to seeing how it shapes up. Many thanks also for the shout-out, very kind of you sir 👍
There are many horse chestnuts up there, Gavin. Good for structure, spitty for the fire. It may take a while as I don’t plan on going there a lot initially. Don’t want to draw any unwanted attention by certain people still in the area below. You’re welcome on the shoutout 😉👍🏼
I say old boy, that was some jolly spiffing breaking news😂 Got high hopes for this build, Tim. And that mini chainsaw is definitely on my shopping list. Been so busy these past few months that getting out just ain't been possible. But I've got my eye on a nice little spot by the A47 up here in Norfolk that needs a recce. Proper dodgy to get to, but no chance of being disturbed if it turns out to be suitable. Atb mate
Oh brilliant. That is the best bit about some spots being awkward to reach. It keeps the unwanted away 😁👍🏼 Yes, give it a look over there when you get a chance, Doug. Nice to hear you’re busy but, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy 😉 Hahaha, you liked the news flash 🤣 Nice chatting mate and thanks a lot for watching 👋🏼😉
did the nose bag taste better than it looked lol ,
Oooh, you can’t beat a dirty bit of nosebag 🤣
Wicked mate Cracker Certainly need to visit that spot
You certainly do Des. You’ll love the way we get in. You’ll have to crawl though you big ol horse 😁👍🏼
@BourneOutside ooh really 😂
@@descattysBushcraftbydescattys Only cos you’re tall 😁
Dig a titanium plate, shite on a gas stove tho
Are they. Do they not burn even?
@BourneOutside don't spread the heat, end up with a hot spot
@ Aha, right. Good job I’m not a gas lover anymore. Cheers me dears 😉👍🏼
Great spot mate, let me know if you need a hand, I’m only down the road, I don’t mind being blindfolded on the walk in to preserve camp secrecy but I’m not keeping it on all night like the last time 😳
Hahaha! You can blindfold me this time round 😁 It is a cracking spot, Si. As long as you don’t mind traffic noise.
@ I’ve slept through wars mate, bit of traffic won’t wake me 😉
Good to see you starting a shelter build Tim definitely recommend taking a saw with you the motor in them saws burn out so easily I'm not a fan of them to be honest had two and both let me down atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Wise words, Jimmy. I do usually have my folder on me too. I can imagine it would be easy to burn the motors out on the units. Thanks for coming in to watch and chat mate. Honestly appreciated! 😉👍🏼
Great work out there today!
Cheers, Age. Haha, I did get a bit of a sweat on 😁
When oil it make sure you think about sharpening the chain.
Yes, it could probably do with a sharpen too I reckon 😉👍🏼
You should of bushcrafted a pot grabber 😂 even I know how to do that 😂 Nice start to the build. Are you on your new camera here??? I'm looking forward to setting light to your shelter when I next go up there 😁
I couldn’t be bothered to as it goes. Plenty of hazel (O’Connor) there to do one mind. Not on the new camera there. A lot of the footage was on the rubbishy old GoPro. I was there on the 9th November. Just before feeling crap and getting the new camera.
@BourneOutside Ahhh I was going to say the DJI quality looked a bit iffy 😁👍
@ No the DJI image quality is good. Though I may not be doing it justice initially. I have a little video to upload soon of me just walking and talking in different lighting and different modes on the camera.
@BourneOutside I did notice on Marks that when it's dull the image quality wasn't brilliant when I was using it on that morning 🤷🏼♂️
@ He may need to have a play with the settings.
👍👍👍👍🤗🧚♂️🧚♂️🧚♂️🧚♂️
Cheers Liz 😉👍🏼
If you dont post b4 xmas you and your family have a good one Tim. 🤗🧚♂️🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
@ And the very same wishes to you and your family, Liz. Must meet up next year again. 🎄
Looks a cracking good out of the way covert spot that Timbo 👍🏻
It is high and in spring and full summer growth, you’d not be able to tell anyone was up there. I love it there. Thanks for watching 😉👍🏼
Good to see you setting up a 2nd home mate. Great project 👌👍
My only struggle there will be getting two double glazed windows onto the roundabout 😁 It’s going to be a fun build 😉👍🏼
@BourneOutside haha nice one. The Mrs was watching saying cmon Bourne get on with it will ya! 😂
@ She wants it done so you can come along and get out from under her feet 😁
@@BourneOutside haha yea probably 😂
Nice little project....Happy Days Timotei
Cheers Chris. It’ll keep me busy for a while 😁👍🏼

Great video! Really enjoyed this, Awesome spot and some lush food! Would love to do a camp like this soon. New like and sub from us!
Thanks for the sub and watching the video. It is really appreciated! I believe March '25 is when Operation Jackdaw kicks off again. You would be more than welcome to come along and take part. It is great gathering with some fantastic people. I'll swing by your channel later.
Number of times I drive past little thickets alongside a motorway and think about what it’d be like to camp in there. Here you are doing it Tim! Although that’s no little thicket - proper little wood! And nice to see nobody else has been up there crapping it up. Lovely spot and great vid as always Tim! 👍
Hello Mark, yes it is quite a sizeable spot there. I love it. I’m going to plant a few more trees there for future wild campers when I’m gone 😁 Give some of them spots you’ve seen a go, Mark. Thanks a lot for watching and having a chinwag kind sir 👋🏼😉👍🏼
Ha ha 'topless darts at Roehampton !! lmao.. Peter Cook ?!? 😂😂 Looks like you all had a cracking good night !! Superb place for a wild camp !! That chair of Des's is bafflingly small !! lol ..I would break that for sure !! lol They all looked like top company !! Have a superb Sunday mate ! Cheers to you 🍻
I knew you’d know that Roehampton sketch, Mr. JT 🤣 T’was a pleasant camp with good company. Even outside the walls in the community. Hoping Jimmy is doing better ❤️
@@BourneOutside He seems to be responding well to the tablets.. so far so good !! Yes 'The Horse race !' lol.. BigTits, Buttocks, ThePoof.. 'and the wanker's making a last dash !! 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
@ The buttocks are pressed up against the rail 🤣 Glad to hear Jimmy is making progress.
@@BourneOutside Ha ha ! 🤣😂 ''Oh dear, The Prick! The Prick is rearing up! He tends to get excited, a very, very excitable horse, I remember he had to be withdrawn at Lingfield. Yes, they’re going to put the hood on him. They’re very good, the handlers here at Newmarket.'' 🤣🤣😂😂 ..best sketch I ever heard !! lmao !! Blessings mate.. I bet TH-cam will delete this comment ! ..Firkam Hall !! lol
@ Hahaha, brilliant. I tell you what, Mr. JT. I camped with some fellas a couple of years back, Mr. Burton was there. One fella knew the D&C albums off by heart. It was a brilliant night around the campfire 🤣
Just like Peter PAN! thats gonna live forever..
Hahaha, hopefully, Garth 😁👍🏼
Pans panning out well mate , nicely seasoned 🔥
Haha, cheers, Gaz mate. A tad more seasoning and will be a beaut for the money it cost.
It's panning out 😂
It’s the way I tell ‘em 😁👍🏼

Yeah it was a good giggle, Karen. It was nice to hit the early for a change 👋🏼❤️👍🏼
As ever great lil cosy camp Tim,wouldnt Mr Wong deliver, in his wellies to you reprobates? 😆
