How to Hand-Felt a Felt Tip Toque or other Hand-knit Items
This is a brief tutorial to quickly show the process of hand-felting your hand knits. In this video, I'm demonstrating the process with my design, the Felt Tip Toque.
Additional Notes:
- My tap water doesn't get very hot, so I boil some water in a kettle, and then add lukewarm tap water until it's a good temperature.
- The dish soap I used in this video is one of those eco, low suds kinds, so depending on what you use, you might find you have a lot more lather when felting. Just ensure you rinse well in cold water when you're done.
- If you used a dark coloured yarn, some of the dye might come out in the water (you can see that happened to me!). Don't worry too much about it.
- I blocked my hat before felting it to make it look neat and to show its shape for this video. You don't need to do this!
- After making this tutorial, I actually went back and felted my hat some more, because it was still a bit big!
