I first toured Hearst Castle in January, 1964, when my older brother and I drove up. Big adventure for a 13 year old. I knew that our architect grandfather, Dr. Kurt Meyer Radon, had worked for Hearst buying furniture for the Santa Monica beach house and for Wyntoon. I also have an old friend, John Considine, Jr., whose father was a producer at MGM (Young Tom Edison, Boys' Town) and was good friends with Hearst and Marion Davies. Marion was the maid of honor at his parents' wedding. John visited San Simeon many times as a child. He once remarked that "I learned to swim in the big outdoor pool at the Hearst Ranch. Hollywood royalty.

Born in 1964. Never miss this show, since the '70s! There is hope for Disney as long as this show lives. I think the slavery update was appropriate and well done.
