This was a hard but beautiful journey, and I am forever grateful. These are vulnerable moments but if this video can help someone going through loss, then it's worth it. Having a homebirth was the closest I have ever felt to God. Our bodies are AMAZING.
By the way, the lemon cake did NOT induce my labor. I ended up taking castor oil and that worked.

I’m honestly thinking about my homeschooling my child. This is his first year in pre-K ( never been in daycare or any type of schooling before) I’ve taught him at home & I feel like he’s very advanced for his age but he’s struggling in school I’m constantly getting phone calls about his behavior & I just feel like he’s not ready yet. I don’t have a problem with his behavior at home I’m just confused about the whole thing 🤦🏻♀️
Do I have to do this even if the school isn’t expecting me back? (I left mid year last year because of health problems but I am now 18 and want to finish my last 2 years of high school homeschooled) and also is being homeschooled free or do I have to pay ?
In the state of NY, Kindergarten is not mandatory
This is so helpful. This is my first year sending in the LOI last month and that went fine but I just send the IHIP on 8/15 as the website directs you too and I haven’t heard back from them yet or got a confirmation they received they ihip. Is this normal? I’m planning on emailing them back mid week if I don’t hear back. Thanks! Xoxo
In the past, I have always received an automatic reply that it has been delivered/received by the homeschooling office. It takes them some time to actually revise and approve it. Once they do, they email you that it has been approved. Did you send it to HOMESCHOOL@schools.nyc.gov ? this would be the email for all paperwork except LOI which is through letterofintent@schools.nyc.gov Also, I highly suggest becoming a member of HSLDA - hslda.org/ Home School Legal Defense Association it is a great resource for support both legally and in general.
@@LivingLovingAndLearning thank you so much for all you’re help! I did exactly that and have yet to hear back. I sent another email and attached the ihip as I want to make sure I am going about this correctly and I’ve been a nervous wreck lol. Also I will look into becoming a member at hslda. I really appreciate the feedback! God bless!
Thanks cus I’m not vaccinating my kids!
I am happy this video helped. You should absolutely join hslda.org/ it is an amazing organization for homeschooling families. They provide legal defense and so much help when it comes to paperwork and any other issues. I highly recommend it.
Thank you so much for making this video! I'm a care manager, so families will ask me for all kinds of support. We know where to go to find information on this stuff, but videos like yours make it so much easier. Just know that if you're helping me, by proxy, you're also helping multiple families. Have a great day!
I am happy this video helped. hslda.org/ is an amazing organization for homeschooling families. They provide legal defense and so much help when it comes to paperwork and any other issues. I highly recommend it.
Hello👋 Do you happen to to have a format for an ihip for the grades 7and8 and grades 10 and 11 that would be on compliance with the homeschool for nyc? I’m trying to to do my own format of an Ihip without using the one given on the website be still be on compliance with, so if you happen to have an idea on how to and quarterly’s as well, I will appreciate it. Thank you.
Hi, I use a google doc, then copy and paste the information on the ihip that NYC provides, and I bullet point my answers for each subject. I don't have a template. I encourage you to join hslda.org/ it is an amazing organization for homeschooling families. They have templates for the documents required by NY, that you can just fill in. They provide legal defense and so much help when it comes to paperwork and any other issues. They can go over your paperwork to double check and provide you feedback. I highly recommend it.
Where do you send the quarterly reports to and thank you for your help
Hi, for NYC quarterly reports are sent via email to Homeschool@schools.nyc.gov
Is there a certain time that we have to homeschool our kids for example they’re in school from 8 AM until 3 PM are we supposed to homeschool the same time or do we choose our own time?
Hi, you can choose your own schedule. Some families homeschool in the evening because the parents work. Whatever schedule best works for your family. You do have to keep a record of hours you do and there’s specific hours that have to be completed depending on the grade. The curriculum, resources or materials you use are up to you. Hope this helps.

Wow I think I will try this for my daughter. Is the process long for the paperwork? How do you get the books and the curriculum that is required?

You are HEAVEN SENT!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 THANK YOU FOR THIS!! 🥲
Where do i get the 9 digit number if my child has never gone to school?
HI, when you provide the letter of intent you can state that your child has never attended public school. The homeschooling office should provide you a number.
This was helpful, thank you.
Your an angel 😇. Thank you so much. 🎉🎉🎉❤

You can contact the superintendent for your district to clarify the steps that you need to follow. In the meantime you can visit www.nysed.gov/curriculum-instruction/part-100-regulations-commissioner-education Also, the document I created may help with curriculum ideas. I think it's wonderful what you are doing.. especially here in NYC... Seems impossible... But you are doing... Good for you ..
NYC has a lot of opportunities, free opportunities and places to go which helps in homeschooling. Although it is difficult it is possible. I hope everything goes well with you. I’m trying to upload little tips to help other people especially in NYC that want to homeschool. There are co-ops that you can join which are a great community of homeschooling families that work together to create classes, field trips and activities. I did some research when I was preparing to homeschool and was so surprised with the amount of families that Homechool in NYC and with all the things we can do here. I wish you all the best ❤️
Thank you so much! We're starting this year for our 5 year old and the anxiety and stress I feel is crazy lol. This video is so helpful!
You're welcome! I'm glad it helped. You got this ❤
Good day I love your shows I was wondering if you do any like free events for home school children to come and socialize with one another. I am a mom from Brooklyn and this my first time home schooling. My son is 6 and his father didnt really get it but he now see how beneficial it is to our son. The only thing is finding a consistent group of children that my son can play with . As you may already know home school children are way more advance and I feel they are more friendly and trusting which non-homeschool children are a bit more stand offish .( I guess due to nyc schools tense environment 😂) But i would love to have my son meet your sons and any other home school children . maybe we can do a park link up
Hi! I don't host any events myself at the moment but I did save this event to my calendar it's on May 7th 12:00pm-2:30pm at Cunningham Park Aberdeen RD & 193rd Street. It's a homeschool FIELD DAY event being hosted by HomesCool Helpers. They ask for donations as small as 1$. They will have games and snacks. I plan to attend and I love my boys meeting new friends all the time. There are also different co-ops in NYC. You should definitely look into, (although Ive heard both positive and negative experiences of ppl trying co-ops) co-op's are a great way to attend field trips and be part of different activities with other homeschool families. Are you on IG? if you are send me your @, I will forward the flyer for the event above.

You’re welcome ❤️
Thank You for providing this information. Your video was informative! We have decided to homeschool and submitted the Letter of Intent. I'm nervous about the IHIP part but I will push through knowing that so many other parents have decided to take this same path. Thanks Again for making this video.
Hi, you’re welcome. I am glad the video was helpful. It can be a little nerve racking but don’t worry the paperwork is very doable. You can also join the Home School Legal Defense Association HSLDA, hslda.org ….and they can look over your paperwork before you submit it to ensure everything you need is there. They also have a legal team that can help if needed. I didn’t mention that in the video but a few homeschool mothers I’ve met have shared that information and I wanted to pass it along. Anyway, as you embark on this journey know that you’re not alone and you got this! I wish you and your family success ❤️
thank you so much for your video. My son just turned three and the DOE has already called and asked if he will be entering pre/pre K and it is something my husband and I do not want. thank you for the information. I look forward to more homeschooling informational videos you might post. thinking about vloging our experience for other parents who might be on the fence about it. thanks again. Jesus loves you.
Thank You ❤
This truly warms my heart! That's great that they offer these types of activities for free!
Yes, there is so much to do :)
Your children are blessed to have you for a mom. This is amazing! God bless you! 🥰❤🙏🏽 Thank you for the information!
Thank you for your kind words Melissa! God Bless You and Your Family! ❤
Thank you. Your video was very helpful.
You're welcome! Glad it helped.
Hello 👋 does this apply for westchester NY as well? Or do I have to contact another office 😅
Hi 😊, You can provide written notice of intent to the school district superintendent where your child is currently attending. They should be able to provide you where you can send the rest of the documents. I would also check the school or district website to see if they list any homeschooling information. The specific emails I mentioned on here are for NYC. However, as far as submitting a letter of intent, an IHIP, quarterly reports and annual assessments, that applies for all NY state. You can find more info here www.nysed.gov/nonpublic-schools/home-instruction. Hope this helps!
@@LivingLovingAndLearning thank you so much for answer my question you’re really helpful keep posting more videos about homeschooling 4 example how to do the quarterly report 😅how to do the annual assignment something like that 😅 have a bless they ❤
