If it's true that Mel Brooks wrote the music for this show, he is quite the renaissance man. In my opinion the songs in this musical are incredible. So many different genres, so many fun jazzy chords, and such catchy melodies. The lyrics are super clever and funny too. This one is a barbershop quartet in the show, sung by residents of Transylvania welcoming newcomers to their hometown.

John Williams is a living legend. I've covered pieces by him several times before on this channel and they're all phenomenal. This is one that I was not familiar with for a long time because I didn't watch the movie until relatively recently. It's beautiful, but also heartbreaking at the same time. Another beautiful piece by the great film composer Nino Rota. I think this one is less well known than the one he did for The Godfather, but it's quite lovely. I like the way the chords seamlessly flow from one to the next.

Cole Porter is one of my all-time favorite composers. This is at least the fourth song of his that I'm recording, and I've got at least one more in the works too. This song is just heavenly. Jazzy, slow, and sweet.

This is another jazz standard that I didn't really know about for a long time, and even when I first heard it it was a bit of an acquired taste for me. But it's beautiful.
