มุมมอง 6K17 ปีที่แล้ว
The Pukeko, or New Zealand Swamp Hen is a member of the rail family, and is similar to other species found all over the world. It is one of the few New Zealand native birds to have flourished since the arrival of man, and can be found in almost any grassland area, especially in swampy locations. Groups will often be seen foraging for food in road-side areas.

Why can't you do some funny videos
This is so lame no one pay for it
Love your sound
Wont lie smales farm is kinda sad now compared to before
Hi kiwimate thank you for your coverage of the Kotare I was just wondering if you could tell me if you know the Maori legend to the bird?
Can watch this bird for hour's, Maori Jedi Master. Piwakawaka.
These things almost flew into me a couple of times
OMG!!! THIS BIRD ATTACKED ME AND MY KITTEN!!! THATS THE EXACT CALL I HEARD!!! TYSM!!!
They don't do that.
Well done, Enjoyed watching the video th-cam.com/video/wWedyNQ5Mh0/w-d-xo.html
Thank you kindly for the upload! I heard a Kingfisher loud and clear today. They are majestic birds!
My dogs a dick he is attacking one right now
It's ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps), not ANZAK
I understand that the young make that strange noise. I sounds like a cross between a dolphin and some toy winding down. Have just heard it today so assume that our pair have hatchlings.
Nice!
Wow, I've tried to photograph these beautiful little birds, but *never* had one stay that still that long ever before... :-) Excellent work!
Well done, Enjoyed watching the video.
Awesome vid, I been chasing fantails for weeks with my camera trying totake still shots, problem is they dont stay still! well dun getting this great footage
I was at the concert in the front row. This breaks my heart. He was amazing.
seen one in new zealand a few years ago, it had just had 4 babies, and they were walking behind the mum following it down a path towards a pond. the dad was hanging about at the back checking everything was alright.
A beautiful place to visit!
@SW111SA itd be awesome to have a white christmas over there in the UK
va multumesc din suflet ca ati avut bunatatea de a posta acest filmulet. va salut, cu respect, bonabonita
OMG!!! This place is sooooo beautiful!!Heaven!!
Great video, my kids spent the day with me at work today and I was able to show them a fantail that has been hanging around on site for a couple of weeks. The sandflies were prolific and 'Meepy' (as he was promptly named) was very obliging at removing them. The kids thought he was great and know we are watching yours on youtube :-)
i love it when they follow close to u when walking lol
I wish they still did this
fantails ♥ . They're such cute, curious (and smart!) little things ^-^
That place must smell heavily of farts.
Thank you. Very interesting bird.
It is the bird making the sound if you are still interested :) On an Island in NZ you can hear them making that growling sound from their burrows.. I think its an alarm sound
I used to have a frog as a pet and it made sounds...
Even though there are some beautiful birds in the UK I do miss native NZ birds and especially fantails... :-/
There seems to be a frog-like sound audible on this video, but it never overlaps the bird vocalizations, so perhaps it is the bird. It is the sound similar to strumming a very loose guitar string, I'm told that New Zealand native frogs do not vocalize. Can you explain this sound?
I love it here :D moved down 3 months ago
kangoos ?????
I agree, I'm amazed how well you followed it, I know how hard they are to capture...energetic little things!
The smell is not too bad. It's not 24/7 like lots of people think. It's more intense when it's raining or going to rain though. In fine days there is no smell at all. Good luck with moving. :)
How bad is the smell? Looking to move there but might steer away from the thermals. (Unless it helps for kitesurfing.
I like the word 'ingrish'! :))) Спасибо за пожелания! :)
Did you mean a chance? :) I live in Rotorua and still haven't seen all those places... :) Удачи и с наступающим Новым Годом и Рождеством! :)
Super! :)
The world's greatest singer... Even at 70 years old his voice is strong and vibrant. A one in a million voice that we won't see for many years. Thank you for the joy you brought us Maestro.
