I'm interested to know how speedrunners dupe objects
You can't dupe the items whenever you want and you need to play on the NTSC or NTSC-J version of the game. You also have to stand on specific spots in the castle. If the position is correct, you only need to go to your inventory and go through your items and they will magicaly duplicate

this soundtrack, as well as curse of darkness were absolute masterpieces.

I'm curious if we went to DPoW only for the Bridge Lever first, if we then would have enough kills by when going by Saisei Incense to skip the wolf's foot for it, then we could re-save at castle entrance before entering ASML then continue as it was...

how do u get that dash attack and hiw to use it? also how are u smashing candles without whipping
You need to have the green orb and the axe subweapon and press O on controller. For the candles you need the jade mask which you can buy at the shop after you finished the game once

I'm surprised all Relic collection isn't part of the 100%. Also I assume all those item rooms you went into and then immediately left were HP Max Up rooms?
Yea, only the map completion counts for 100%. Those rooms were mostly HP ups or accessoires I don't use
@@timitobi423 huh. guess I mostly thought Relics counted 'cause they're on the save file screen, but... eh. ^^ good run though, very good. ^^
As someone who 100% everything in this game back in high school, I'll tell you that the reason the relics aren't involved is the RNG on the drop on the Crystal Skull. It can only be dropped by a defeated Phantom, which can only be found in the Pagoda of the Misty Moon (unless you're playing Crazy Mode.) They drop high potions, so even if you end up getting hit now and then, you'll max out on them while farming, so health isn't the issue. Because the high potions have such a higher drop percentage AND the Crystal Skull has such a low drop percentage, you'll be sinking hours into a single room full of smokey, reasonably tough to kill skeletons.

Nice job in getting sub 20 man! I've been giving a go in speedrunning the game as well, since it's one of my favorite games as well, and I'm glad to see I'm going in the right direction, just needing to polish my executions and stuff. Really helpful run as well. Have a good one!

One of my favorite games I played as a kid. Idk why people didn't like this game.
The camera can be a problem for some people, but I have no big issues with it or the game in general. I love it as well. Let's hope Konami re-release it alongside Curse of Darkness in a collection. Fingers crossed.

What exactly is that glitch?
You can duplicate your items by standing on a specific place like here 4:00. Nobody really knows why this is working but many assume this trick was a leftover from the beta testing days, and Konami forgot to remove it. Item duplication was fixed on PAL so it works only with the NTSC version of the game.
@@timitobi423They should have left it. I thought it was hinted at in the last paragraph of the prologue. Though it was speaking of the forest of eternal darkness, it could have related I suppose. Moonlight provides a ray of hope...
I'm having an issue with my Leon.... He's mozying (stuck in walking in slow-mo), when he has a woman to save....Lmfao. Seriously....He won't run. At all... What am I doing wrong? Thanks
Are you playing on an emulator or on PS2/PS3? If you using an emulator, I'm sure you have to adjust some settings. Just try things out

You are not alone especially when you charge your triangle to hit the combo as high as possible for good item drop early.
