In the live view screen go to the top right and click the gear. Then click Setup. Then Click the Live View tab. Then uncheck Q View. Click ok. Then restart ERM.

@@ChrisChoulagh If you go to Settings, you can switch to General Mode and it will remove the large menu at the bottom. You will lose timeline based playback if using this method though.

Hello. Currently GeoVision offers two software platforms. VMS 17 is our flagship VMS platform that is free for the first 32 GeoVision IP Cameras. We will always offer a free option. VMS 18 is our paid VMS software that gives the ability to record up to 16 of the 32 channels only based on People / Vehicle Detection events. This allows you to filter out false motion events. VMS 17 does offer various patches so on our website you'll start to see version progressions such as VMS 17.4.7 to VMS 17.4.8. This is what I am referring to when I am talking about upgrading to the latest version. When switching from VMS 17 to the paid VMS 18 software, we consider that a software platform change and it would require the purchase of the license to get VMS 18.

I believe it is keeping the aspect ratio of the camera which is why it displays the black bars on the top/bottom of the camera.

@@LuCkYnights713 Go to Settings and toggle Easy Mode off. See if that helps.

Please go into the Settings menu of GV-Eye and see if Easy Mode is toggled on (green). If it is, toggle it off to migrate to General Mode. This should correct the issue. If this doesn't fix it, if you're using the VMS software, please make sure it is updated to the latest v17.4.8. If you are using one of the SNVR products, make sure it has the latest firmware.

That is a bug that will be fixed soon. Sorry about that.

Hello. We actually do have the ability now to trigger a GeoVision IP Speaker to play a pre-recorded message when a camera sees motion. In the VMS software you can associate the IP Speaker with a camera and then create a schedule to where if a camera sees motion after business hours for example, it will trigger the pre-recorded message to play. If you'd like further information on this, please email me at joseph@usavisionsys.com. We are also working on the ability to create a group of speakers and broadcast a message across that group of speakers at the same time.

The VMS software runs on a Windows based machine at the facility where the cameras are installed. There is a free remote viewing client application called Edge Recording Manager that a customer can use to view from their desktop/laptop. We also have a free cloud portal called GV-Cloud where you can point your VMS to the GV-Cloud website so a customer can remotely view live video and video recorded to the VMS machine through a web browser.

Yes this can be a little tricky. One thing I would recommend trying is going into the VMS software and manually turning off all network services. Then go to the Startup menu in VMS and uncheck all of the network services and the option to auto-run VMS upon Windows startup. After you do that, exit the VMS and restart the machine. @@themastersb I don’t believe there is a way to search by a specific first letter in the plate.

There are two methods for saving a short clip. I have linked below. Please note that sending a clip via email may not be possible because of the file size. What you may have to do is either put the file on a thumb drive to give to police or upload the file to a share site such as Google Drive, Dropbox, etc and then give them the link. You cannot installed Remote Viewlog on a Mac but in May of 2024 GeoVision released v1.3.1 of Edge Recording Manager for Mac. You may try upgrading to that version for the best experience. ERM for Mac does allow you to review playback footage within the program.

@@GeoJoe1 Will i be able to review remotely using ERM? I tried installing but I didnt understand how to setup. I ran the scan to see if it will find the cameras but nothing came up in the list. I assumed ERM is to be use only if you are on the same network.

@@lateracooper6466 Yes, you can use ERM to remotely view from outside the local network but you will need to do port forwarding. You will be able to view live and playback footage once you do port forwarding. Are you using our VMS software on the recorder? If so, an alternative option is you can create a free GV-Cloud account and point your VMS to GV-Cloud. This would allow you to open a web browser on your Mac without having to do any port forwarding and then you can view live/playback footage from your VMS system in the Cloud webpage for no fees. @@gustavobedolla6435 Thank you for this suggestion. This feature is not available yet but it has been mentioned to our development team and may be added later.

You would need to go into the Settings and look for Group Management. In that section, it allows you to configure how many cameras display per page.

Yes, it does. The QR Code scan method allows you to remotely view without having to open ports on your router. This works if you are on a remote network and not on the same internal network or WiFi.

Hey Matthew! The GV-TMS8800 is great for hallway applications for example. It gives you two straight on 90 degree angle of views as opposed to a 180 degree panoramic view. The 180 degree cameras don't work very well mounted in narrow hallways. They work best mounted on the exterior wall of a building or on the wall in a large open space such as a warehouse, manufacturing plant, gymnasium, etc.

The Remote Viewlog service in your VMS software (if you are using VMS software) may be disabled, the user account you are using on GV-Eye may not have permission for playback, etc. There are many things this could be. Hello. This is going to depend on what option was selected when the user saved the video. If they did not click the correction option, it won't play back in a Windows Media Player or VLC. It may be a good idea for you to go to your NVR or your remote viewing software and do the Save as AVI again with the procedure shown on the video links below.
