so if you import from the sheet, the sheet will update as you're updating the information on MyMaps?
Great video! I did add “copy” at the end of my link and it works great on desktop. But on mobile devices the link will not force a copy. It opens right up to my original sheet. Have you encountered this issue? Thanks!
yea, sheets in mobile can get kinda wonky at times. Make sure you're logged into your google account FIRST, before trying to make a copy. That usually helps.
@ thank you so much for your reply! So to explain my problem better, I created a budgeting template that I want to use as a lead magnet. So I created a landing page for someone to put their email and then an email with the template link would be sent to them. I changed the end of the link to “copy” so when someone clicks on the link it would force a copy. Well as I was testing the email, on desktop it would work correctly and bring up the “make a copy” page. But on mobile when I clicked the link in the email it goes straight to the template and does not force a copy. I have no idea why. I hope this makes sense 😆
Where is the SOP?
@@LifeInTheRV this SOP is very specific to our business, platforms and reports, but you can (and should) write an SOP as you pull your reports to do your monthly bookkeeping 🙌🏼 Write a rough draft / checklist style on a google doc as you do it the first time and then refine the SOP as you do it every month.
Hi! Beautiful sheet! I have a question: how were you able to pull the book cover image on your book cover column from the reading log sheet onto your dashboard for the filtering of books by status portion? I'm fairly new to sheets and can't seem to find a function that will pull an image. Thanks in advance!
@@katiecolln9521 hi there! You will need to insert the image IN CELL, on your tracker. Then just refer to it by using the =cellwheretheimageis (hope that makes sense!)
@@spreadsheetables Ohhhh got it. So did you just do that for all the book covers as well as the titles of each book on the dashboard and then create the dropdown feature directly on the dashboard sheet to interact with those cells rather than having it interact with cells on your reading log tracker? Or is the filter function (or maybe query function?) on your dashboard to change the book status engaging with the data on your tracker sheet?
How do you lock it? Because if the link is in the shop , anyone can make a copy
But isn't that's the whole point when selling? if they bought it, they'll need to make a copy.. 😅 otherwise they'll ask to edit your original (and you don't want that!)

@@coveandcoastcleaningco did you change the general access to “anyone with the link can view”? If so you can ignore/decline those requests. We get those sometimes too, and just ignore

the best part was when I clicked the link from the script and was sent to an Ad-Revenue page, not the actual Script.
The first link in our description leads to the form to grab the script. 😊
You know what would be helpful is if someone would write a script that is a button creator. It could prompt for button type, title, and then options for what you want it to do..like ooen another spreadsheet. It'd be great if it were up on the ribbon bar. That might be something that Google developers could do or some entrepreneur.

How come when I do it, it opens a new instance of the spreadsheet in a new tab?
I was wondering that too... Edit: it might be the browser. She's using Edge. When I tested in Chrome, it opened a new tab (bad). In Firefox, it jumped to the correct tab/cell (good). I don't know why this is yet.

Hi, Google Conditional Formating is quite a clumsy setup, I have some concerns, and that is what you experience too. When I design and operate sheets for myself, I know how to "manipulate " myself, the downside is when designing for a client, I need to ensure each year they send the sheets back to me so I can "retweak" for the new year or new product.
Great series of videos, I would recommend that the Countif section, is rather referencing a cell outside of the data, that way, people don't keep "trying" to tweak the formula and cause nonsense. We know we have those who "say" the know, but when not around to managege the process, they mess it up, and declare they never touched anything. Keep up the great resources ladies.
What do you mean copying over? What are you trying to do in copying it or why are you copying it? Is it not already part of the calendar? I’m confused as to a use case scenario
@Sky-yj8wx when you create a one month calendar for example, and copy over to recreate the following months, the conditional formatting will mess up
This helps a lot... but is there an option where, when you click the cell itself, it automatically brings you to the cell/tab rather than having to click the link that pops up below it? Or is this the best it can do?
I've wondered this too. Last I checked, it's considered a "security feature" that Google pre-sniffs the link and gives some info in that popup, with no way to skip it normally. There may be some browser extension or Google Sheet add-on that modifies this behavior, but so far I haven't found it. I'd like this option as well.
